Emerald Bluefish is a medium-sized fish caught in the deep waters around the Caribbean in Windrose. It is a Fishing pickup that processes into Fish Fillet, the universal cooked-fish ingredient used in dozens of Cooking recipes. It is one of the rarer deep-water catches, so it bites less often than common surf fish but yields more fillets per fish.

How to Catch

Emerald Bluefish is caught with a Fishing Rod in deep water tiles. Deep-water fish bite while you are anchored over open ocean tiles, beyond the surf line that surrounds each island. A reliable spot is anywhere your ship can drop anchor in pure blue sea. Fish appear in a rolling rotation alongside other deep-water species.

Bait quality and rod tier raise the catch rate but do not affect which species bite. Higher-tier rods have shorter cast times and better tug response, which matters when several bite windows overlap on a busy fishing trip.

Uses

The primary use is processing into Fish Fillet. No station is needed: right-click the raw fish in your inventory to fillet it, and rarer catches like this one return more fillets than common fish. Fish Fillet then feeds Cooking recipes such as Fish and Tostones, which sit at the top end of food buffs. Selling the fish raw is generally a poor option compared with filleting it first.

Tips

Emerald Bluefish weighs 0.4 kg per fish and stacks to 5. A full deep-water session can fill multiple stacks; bring extra inventory space or fillet on the deck.

Equipping a Minor Fisherman Ring or Major Fisherman Ring improves fishing results, and progressing the Master Fisherman track rewards longer trips. Carry spare inventory space or fillet on deck, since a good deep-water session fills several stacks fast.
