Elegant Shelf is a decorative shelf in Windrose, built from Hardwood in a sophisticated classical style. It dresses interior walls and adds a point toward the Shelf comfort group.

Function

The Elegant Shelf belongs to the Shelf comfort group and gives +1 Comfort toward the settlement total tracked by the Comfort System. As with all comfort decorations the bonus does not stack, so a single shelf from this group is enough to claim the point; extra shelves are placed for looks or storage layout rather than additional comfort.

With 3,000 max health it is sturdy enough to survive a base raid. It is part of the elegant furniture line, alongside larger and fancier display pieces such as the Large Elegant Shelf, the Luxurious Shelves, and the simpler Small Shelf.

The recipe is unlocked by the Decoration: Elegant Curtains and Shelves plan, which also teaches the matching curtains, so a single plan covers several elegant interior pieces. Each shelf then costs five Hardwood, a renewable wood gathered from mature trees, which keeps it cheap to build in bulk for a furnished captain's quarters.
