How to Apply

Bring the ship to a Shipwright-built Wharf, open the customization menu, and select the matching sail slot. Dragon's Gold appears in the option list once the unlock condition (Style Book or stock availability) is met.

Unlocked by reading the matching Style Book, sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner. Style Books for the Smugglers of Port Royal are priced in Guineas, not Piastres, and gated behind reputation tiers.

Compatible Ships

This cosmetic name appears in the database under the Brig-class entry, but the underlying design is shared across Brig, Frigate, and Ketch hull classes. Once the Style Book is read, the option is available for every ship class your character has built or unlocked.

Cosmetic Role

Dragon’s Gold changes only the look of a ship’s rigged sails. It does not alter Cargo capacity, hull Hit Points, cannon slots, or sailing speed, so the choice is purely visual. The design is themed around the Smugglers of Port Royal, matching the rest of their style line for captains who want a coordinated smuggler look across hull, sails, and flag.

Acquisition

The design is unlocked by reading its Style Book, which is stocked by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner. Smuggler style books are bought with Guineas rather than Piastres, the faction’s reputation currency, and higher-tier designs unlock as your standing with the faction climbs through the reputation tiers. Reading the book is a one-time, account-wide unlock: once learned, the sail option stays available for every ship you build.

Applying The Sail

Sail designs are swapped at a Wharf built by a Shipwright. Dock the ship, open the Ship Customization menu, select the sail slot, and choose Dragon’s Gold from the unlocked list. You can change it back or to another design at any time at no lasting cost, so it is safe to experiment.
