Catastrophe's Aftermath is a People of Tortuga faction quest that opens after the tragedy at Tortuga. Pirates ransacked the town and killed the governor along with many innocents, leaving refugees starving. Charlie Sharpe asks the player to kill Jim Godart, one of Blackbeard's minions, before Godart can attack the refugees.
Speak to Charlie Sharpe at the People of Tortuga Main Base after progressing the main story through the events of Tortuga. Charlie briefs the player on Godart's threat and marks the target camp on the map.
Speak to Charlie Sharpe at the People of Tortuga Main Base to accept the quest.
Sail to the marked camp. Godart's camp is large and spread across sections of a hill with multiple pirate patrols.
Clear the pirates section by section to avoid grouping them together. Fall back if multiple sections pull at once.
Fight through to the top of the camp.
Defeat Jim Godart to complete the objective.
Return to Charlie Sharpe to hand in the quest.

Stamina management is critical. Enter with full Stamina and at least two food buffs active (see Cooking Recipes).
Ranged weapons shine at this camp. The Musket and Blunderbuss let you thin patrols before they swarm.
Godart is tougher than the rank-and-file pirates. Pull him alone if possible and use Perfect Block to punish his swings.

Narrative journal line the game writes once the final stage closes out:

The people are short on food, and the ship meant to deliver it is overrun by the drowned. I have to recover the supplies, or they'll starve.

I have the supplies. I should deliver them to Charlie Sharpe as soon as possible, the people can't afford to go hungry.
Charlie Sharpe asked to inform Doctor Galen that there are many sick and wounded among the refugees. They need medicine.
Doctor Galen asked me to find fifteen bunches of healing herbs that could be found in ruins. He's confident that will be enough to make the medicine.

Doctor Galen prepared the healing draughts for the sick refugees. Now I just have to deliver them.
It looks like Jim Godart, one of the pirate leaders, is preparing to attack defenseless locals. I won't let him turn people into cargo.
Jim Godart is dead, and the civilians are safe. Now I just need to inform Charlie Sharpe.
Doctor Galen asks for 15 Healing Herbs to brew the medicine. The fastest source is Ancient Ruins chests across the Coastal Jungle. Each ruin chest typically drops around three Healing Herbs, so clearing two full ruins usually covers the quota with a few in reserve. Wildlife and surface foliage do not drop Healing Herbs reliably enough to replace the ruin chest route.
Jim Godart's camp stretches up a hillside in several terraces, each populated by a group of pirates. Rushing up the hill stacks every group into a single fight, which is usually unwinnable with early gear. Clear each terrace level independently before climbing to the next. Godart himself is a standard enemy, not a boss, and falls to normal melee combat once isolated from his guards at the summit.

Catastrophe's Aftermath has a longer pre-fight chain than the Godart-camp section alone suggests. Once Charlie Sharpe accepts the quest, the actual sequence is a multi-stop loop that takes the player through a naval boarding, a refugee-camp dialogue, a herb-collection round trip, and only then the Godart camp. Every step before the Godart fight has to be cleared in order, so plan a single sailing route that hits the Provisions ship, the Tortuga refugee camp, the closest Ancient Ruins, and the camp again before the final approach.
Step | Objective | Key Challenge |
|---|---|---|
1 | Retrieve Provisions from the drowned-infested ship | Roughly five Drowned crowd the deck and re-board if you retreat to your own ship |
2 | Deliver Provisions to Charlie Sharpe | Sail back to the People of Tortuga refugee camp |
3 | Speak to Doctor Galen | Galen needs 15 Healing Herbs to brew a Crate of Medicine |
4 | Collect 15 Healing Herbs | Ancient Containers in Coastal Jungle Ancient Ruins are the reliable source |
5 | Bring the Crate of Medicine back to Sharpe | Triggers the Jim Godart bounty conversation |
6 | Eliminate Jim Godart and his Grenadier bodyguards | Level 8 enemies, ranged Grenadier pressure, Godart uses ranged attacks |
7 | Return to Charlie Sharpe | Final hand-in for 200 Piastre and 10 Letters of Favor |
The first objective sails the player to a marker on a derelict ship that holds a stash of Provisions for the refugees. Roughly five Drowned crowd the deck and swarm the moment a foot lands on the planks. The fight is widely flagged as one of the most punishing early encounters because the Drowned re-spawn the instant the player retreats to their own ship; the standard "jump back to recover" response actually resets the encounter rather than thinning it. Three workable openings: soften the deck with a cannon volley before boarding, kite the group around the deck in a continuous loop while picking off stragglers, or sprint below deck, grab the Provisions, and immediately leave. The quest progresses on the Provisions pickup, not on a clean deck.
After delivering the Provisions, Sharpe sends the player to Doctor Galen, who explains the survivors also need medicine. Galen will craft a Crate of Medicine in exchange for 15
Carry the Crate of Medicine back to the People of Tortuga refugee camp and hand it to Charlie Sharpe. This is the trigger for the Jim Godart conversation: Sharpe reveals that Long Ben has passed along intel about a Blackbeard-aligned threat named Jim Godart and asks the player to deal with him. The Godart camp marker only pins to the map after this hand-in, so attempting to skip ahead and assault the camp before the medicine handoff will not advance the quest tracker.
