Black Axel

Black Axel is a recruitable worker in Windrose. He is tied to the Cooking Fire and provides a 30% chance to craft an extra portion of food when cooking. Unlike Rosalinda Mercer and Jasper Crowe, Black Axel is not hired inside Tortuga itself. He is found at the People of Tortuga main base on the nearby island.

How To Use Black Axel

1. Hire Black Axel at the People of Tortuga main base.

2. Return to camp and interact with the Cooking Fire.

3. Open the worker assignment tab and set Black Axel as the active cook.

4. Cook normally. The bonus applies automatically once he is assigned.

Why the Perk Matters

Black Axel is most valuable during long batch-cooking sessions. The more dishes the player prepares in one sitting, the more noticeable the duplicate-meal chance becomes. That matters most for higher-value food runs before bosses, faction deliveries, or long sailing stretches where replacing ingredients is more expensive than the 500-Piastre hire cost.

Location Notes

Current worker guides agree on the same point: Black Axel is associated with Tortuga's faction economy, but he is not standing in Tortuga town. Reaching him requires the player to visit the People of Tortuga base on the nearby island and speak to him there.
