Bear Hide is a hull paint cosmetic for ships in Windrose. The paint is applied at a player-built Wharf through the Manage Ship menu's Customization tab. Once unlocked, the paint can be repainted onto any ship the player owns at no Guinea cost. It is a hull color in the Buccaneers theme and comes as a separate unlock for each ship class, so the Ketch, Brig, and Frigate each carry their own version of the paint.

How to Unlock

Unlocked by reading the matching faction Hull Colors Style Book, sold by that faction's Provisioner. Reading the book permanently adds the paint to the Wharf customisation menu for that character. Style Books for hull paints are typically priced in the 30 Guinea range. The relevant book is the Buccaneers entry in the hull Style Book: Stock Hull Colors line; reading it unlocks the faction's full hull palette, this paint included, for that character.

Faction

Themed for ships flying Rogue Buccaneers colours. The flavor description ties the paint scheme to that faction's identity, but the cosmetic is purely visual; ships of any class can wear it once the Style Book is read.

How to Apply

Sail the ship to a Wharf and dock it. Open the Manage Ship menu, switch to the Customization tab, and select Hull. The unlocked paints appear in the option list and previewing one swaps the live ship model immediately. Confirm to apply; there is no Guinea cost on application.
