Amethyst Squall is a hull paint cosmetic for ships in Windrose. The paint is applied at a player-built Wharf through the Manage Ship menu's Customization tab. Once unlocked it can be repainted onto any ship the character owns at no Guinea cost, so a single style book purchase covers an entire fleet. It is a deep purple wash, named for the violet hue a storm front can throw across the water at dusk.

Unlocked by reading the matching faction Hull Colors Style Book, sold by that faction's Provisioner. Reading the book is a one-time action: right-click it in the inventory and the full set of paints it lists is added permanently to that character's Wharf customisation menu, after which the book is consumed. Each character on a shared base must read their own copy. Style Books for hull paints are typically priced around 30 Guinea, and the matching faction reputation rank must be reached before the book appears in the Provisioner's stock.
Hull paint sets are organised by faction. The Style Book: Stock Hull Colors and Style Book: Brethren Hull Colors are two such collections; each lists three named paints that join the same Customization menu Amethyst Squall appears in.
Sail the ship to a Wharf and dock it.
Open the Manage Ship menu and switch to the Customization tab.
Select the Hull slot. The unlocked paints appear in the option list.
Preview a paint to swap the live ship model instantly, then confirm to apply. There is no Guinea cost on application.
Because the paint binds to the character rather than to one ship, switching it on a Ketch does not lock it out on a Brig or Frigate later. Paint is purely cosmetic and never changes hull health, speed, or cargo capacity.
