Overview
VOID DIVER: Escape from the Abyss was exhibited at BIC 2026, the Busan Indie Connect Festival, held August 14 to 16, 2026 in Busan, Korea. The game appeared on the RED BRICK HOUSE publisher booth, making the show the first public outing for the co-publishing partnership the studio had announced earlier that month. For the partnership itself, see STUDIO NEMO. The show has since closed, and the game was named one of the ten finalists in the awards program the festival ran with Google Play.

At the Show
The booth ran a hands-on demo zone where visitors could play from the tutorial through to Chapter 2 of The Abyss, capped at fifteen minutes per session. Everyone who played received a sticker as a participation gift. The studio pitched the booth at players who had not yet tried the game, alongside the booth events and photo zone it ran across the three days. For the build most players had access to at home, see the Demo.
Booth Events
Alongside the demo stations, the booth ran a stamp card, a photo zone, and a prize draw:
Activity | Details |
|---|---|
Stamp card | Completing three of five missions earned an exclusive VOID DIVER tarpaulin tote bag, limited to the first 200 participants each day. The five missions were wishlisting the game on Steam, joining the official Discord, following the official X account, photographing the booth and posting it on social media, and playing the game. |
Photo zone | A dedicated photo area built around a life-sized standee of Dark Young, one of the game's named enemies. |
Cosplay | Members of the team greeted visitors in costume as the game's Divers. The studio noted it was the team's first time cosplaying and described the characters as ones it had poured its heart into creating. |
Lucky draw | A prize draw run at the booth across the show. The studio called it one of the biggest highlights of its festival and said turnout ran well beyond what it had expected. |
After the Show
The festival closed on August 16, 2026. The studio thanked the visitors who came to the booth and played the game, and said that watching people play, hearing feedback in person, and taking in the encouragement from the floor was the most valuable part of the three days. It said it would carry that feedback into continued development.
VOID DIVER was also selected as one of the ten finalists at the BIC × Google Play Indie Fest Awards, a separate awards program the festival ran with Google Play as its official executive sponsor. The finalists were drawn from the games exhibiting at BIC 2026, and the order among them was settled by a combination of an audience voting panel and expert judging. The studio announced the selection but has not said where the game placed among the ten.
Context
BIC 2026 followed a run of 2026 appearances that began with PlayX4 2026 in Ilsan and BitSummit 2026 in Kyoto, both in May, and Steam Next Fest 2026 in June, during which the game passed 200,000 wishlists. It came shortly after the studio set aside its Early Access plan in favor of a complete full release. For the release timeline, see Early Access and Release.
