VOID DIVER: Escape from the Abyss is an extraction action RPG fused with a shop-management sim, presented in a 2.5D pixel-art style. The developer describes it as a multiplayer action game that combines beautiful pixel art with the high-stakes tension of an extraction RPG. It is the debut title from STUDIO NEMO, a subsidiary of LoadComplete, and is planned for PC.

A city the player once knew has transformed into a massive dungeon swirling with otherworldly forces. From an antique shop in the heart of that city, the player commands operatives who plunge into this perilous space to recover lost artifacts, then explore, fight, and escape, all to complete requests and return alive.
What You Do
The game splits into two interlocking roles. Underground, you direct Divers who descend into The Abyss to recover valuables and survive. Above ground, you run an antique shop and turn recovered loot into profit and progress. The two layers feed each other: dives fund the shop, and the shop bankrolls and equips the next dive.
The full experience rests on several pillars that the Gameplay Loop ties together:
Pillar | What It Covers |
|---|---|
Combat | Real-time, high-impact action against the dungeon's threats. See Combat. |
Exploration | Descending into procedurally generated dungeon runs. See Diving and Extraction. |
Survival | Managing stress, light, and curses to make it out. See Stress and Madness. |
Growth | Skill trees, traits, and gear that shape each character. See Character Building. |
Management | Running the shop and trading artifacts. See BALUSHA Antique Shop. |
Survival and Risk
A run is a race against your own resources. Flashlight power is limited, and your character's mind frays under pressure, so rising stress and dwindling light together force constant decisions about how deep to push. Reaching the limit of that mental pressure triggers strange phenomena. Failing to extract in time can mean losing everything collected during the run. The survival framing draws on Cthulhu-mythos horror, with curses called Paradoxes that linger even after an expedition ends. The threats range from otherworldly monsters and rampaging machines to urban legends and humans driven to madness.
Characters
Players choose from a roster of operatives, each with unique skills and their own narrative. Four are playable in the June 2026 demo build: the melee-focused Ga-young, the ranged specialist Raven, plus Noah and Mio. The studio is targeting roughly six to seven characters by official launch.
Co-op
You can play solo as a lone wolf or team up online for up to three players to conquer dungeons together. The game is focused on cooperative play against the environment, with no player-versus-player mode. See Co-op and Multiplayer for details.
Developer and Release
VOID DIVER is developed by STUDIO NEMO and published by LoadComplete, which entered a co-publishing partnership with RED BRICK HOUSE for the game in August 2026. It is the studio's first title. The Early Access launch once targeted for the second half of 2026 was set aside that same month in favor of a complete full release, and no date has been announced. A free demo on Steam has drawn strong interest, passing 200,000 wishlists by the close of the June 2026 Steam Next Fest. See Early Access and Release for the full timeline.
Development Milestones
VOID DIVER built a large wishlist following through the first half of 2026, passing 10,000 wishlists within days of the demo, then climbing through 25,000, 50,000, 70,000, and 100,000, reaching past 130,000 going into the June Steam Next Fest, crossing 150,000 mid-festival, and surpassing 200,000 by the close of the festival, when it ranked among the most-played games of Next Fest. The team showcased the game at PlayX4 in Korea and BitSummit in Kyoto, Japan. In August 2026 the studio set aside its Early Access plan in favor of a full release and announced a co-publishing partnership between LoadComplete and RED BRICK HOUSE.
