Overview
Lann is a Fighter-class character who wields twin swords. His combat style is built around speed and aggression. Fast combos, constant repositioning, and a dodge-only defensive approach. He has no shield, no parry, and no way to absorb hits. What he has instead is a Double Dodge system that lets him chain evasions back-to-back, staying in the fight while avoiding damage entirely through movement.
He was one of the original playable characters in the 2010 Vindictus MMO and returns here with a redesigned moveset. During the June 2025 alpha test, he was one of the four available characters.
Combo list
Lann's combo tree branches from basic attacks (LMB/X) into strong attacks (RMB/Y). Each named combo produces a different finisher with different range, damage, and recovery time.

Item | Description |
|---|---|
Gust Sting | RMB, a quick forward thrust. The simplest strong attack, good for poking. |
Rising Crescent | LMB > RMB, an upward slash after a basic strike. |
Pummel Storm | LMB > LMB > RMB, a three-hit chain ending in a heavy downward strike. |
Razorwind | LMB > LMB > RMB > RMB, a four-hit chain with a slashing finisher. Enables Gliding Fury on hit. |
Fanning Slash | LMB > LMB > LMB > LMB > RMB, a five-hit string ending in a wide sweep. |
Akimbo Slash | LMB > LMB > LMB > LMB > RMB > RMB, a six-hit chain with a dual-blade finisher. Also enables Gliding Fury on hit. |
Gliding Fury
Gliding Fury (TAB/RB) is Lann's signature move: a forward dash-attack that can only be activated after landing specific attacks: Razorwind, Akimbo Slash, a Perfect Dodge counter-attack, or Fatal Fury. It deals full damage to enemies it grazes past, meaning Lann can dash through an enemy rather than stopping in front of it. If triggered from any attack except Fatal Fury, Gliding Fury can be chained one additional time.
This move is central to Lann's high-level play. It repositions him behind the target while dealing damage, making it both an offensive tool and an escape route. Skilled players weave Gliding Fury between combo strings to maintain damage uptime while staying out of retaliation range.
Active Skills
Skill | Effect |
|---|---|
Cross Assault | A sweeping multi-slash combo that hits hard from both sides. |
Windmill | A spinning slash hitting enemies in a radius around Lann. |
Raging Fever | An aggressive flurry that chains into follow-up attacks and ramps damage with successive hits. |
Fatal Fury | A burst-damage finishing skill that can be cast multiple times in quick succession. Landing it also enables Gliding Fury. |
Defensive mechanic: Double Dodge
Lann's defensive tool is the Double Dodge (Space + Space / B + B), chaining a second dodge immediately after the first. This gives him more evasive options than any other character. Where Fiona blocks, Karok clashes, and Delia parries, Lann simply isn't where the attack lands. A perfectly timed dodge triggers a Perfect Dodge counter-attack.
The absence of any blocking or absorbing ability means Lann takes full damage when he gets caught. His lighter frame makes the margin for error smaller than on Karok or Fiona. Against bosses with wide AoE attacks or rapid multi-hit combos, Lann players need to know exactly which dodge direction gets them out safely.
Playstyle
Lann is the character for players who want to be constantly moving and attacking. He rewards mechanical skill, fast reflexes, and combo knowledge. The ideal Lann loop is: basic combo chain into Razorwind or Akimbo Slash, land the hit, Gliding Fury through the boss, turn around, start a new chain. The goal is to never stop attacking and never get hit.
He's often compared to dual-wield classes in other action RPGs, but Lann's deeper dodge system and Gliding Fury mechanic set him apart. Most Soulslike characters get one roll, maybe two. Lann chains dodges and dashes with no stamina limitation, which raises both his ceiling and the execution demand.
