Setting
The Witcher IV is set in Kovir and Poviss, a kingdom in the far north of the Continent. This region was frequently referenced in Andrzej Sapkowski's novels and mentioned in certain endings of The Witcher 3, but it has never been explorable in a Witcher game until now.

Detailed Descriptions
Stromford
Stromford is an isolated village in the far north where the cinematic trailer takes place. Its residents developed a tradition of human sacrifice to appease the Bauk, a creature living in nearby caves. Stromford represents the remote, superstitious communities that populate northern Kovir.
Valdrest
Valdrest is a bustling port town, the largest populated area shown so far. The Unreal Engine 5 tech demo showcased its market district, docks, and surrounding countryside. It is where Ciri takes a contract to hunt an Imperial Manticore that attacked salt shipments from nearby Korviso.
Lan Exeter
Lan Exeter is the winter capital of Kovir and Poviss. In the novels, it is described as a wealthy port city built on a wide estuary, with Venetian-inspired architecture featuring a Great Canal and narrow, ornate building facades. It was teased at the end of the State of Unreal tech demo and is described as significantly larger than Novigrad from The Witcher 3.
Expected Locations from Lore
Based on the book lore, the following locations exist within Kovir and Poviss but have not been individually confirmed for the game:
Pont Vanis: The summer capital of Kovir, a twin to Lan Exeter
Creyden: A territory within the Kovir region
Narok: A settlement referenced in the novels
Poviss: The eastern portion of the dual kingdom
Talgar: A territory within the region
Velhad: A territory within the region
Map Size
The overall map is confirmed to be "more or less" the same size as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's world, which measured roughly 142 square kilometers including DLC areas. CDPR specified it could be "90, 85, or 100 percent" of that size.
