Revision - shrines of life - The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Wiki

Philabieldia contains 24 Shrines of Life spread across The Four Ages. Each is an optional challenge with a guaranteed Shard of Life. Four shards form a Drop of Life and increase Elliot's maximum Life by one. The rooms test combat, traversal and puzzles rather than using one common solution.

Before entering

Check both the era and the location. Several shrines occupy similar regions in different ages, but their entrances and challenges differ. Bombs open some approach routes, while Warp, Ignite and the Bow are needed in particular rooms. A shrine requiring a later ability can be revisited after that tool is learned.

The tables use region and approach descriptions to identify each shrine. A repeated region means a separate challenge in another part of that area. Clearing all 24 gives 24 shards, enough for six maximum-Life increases from these shrines alone.

Age of Safekeeping routes

Location	Approach	Challenge
Eastern Hucarea	Climb the ladder west of the beach.	Dodge or block the arrows on the way to the exit.
Whiterea	Use the northernmost exit of Secret Shortcut 3.	Push all three ice blocks onto switches.
Westerea	Travel west from the Southern Westerea guidepost.	Cross the platforms to the far side.
Westerea swamp	Use the northern exit of Monster Trail 2.	Defeat two Greatsword Guardians.
Neverwither	Approach the southeastern edge through the Eastern Caves.	Activate crystals in this order: Red, Yellow, Red, Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, Yellow.
Garretbelt	Use the ledge beyond the drop south of Mount Phoenix.	Use Ignite to illuminate the room, then defeat the enemies.

Age of Reconstruction routes

Location	Approach	Challenge
Western Hucarea	Pass the ruined house with a ramp and reach the ledge.	Cross the sideways-moving platforms.
Neverwither	Open Secret Shortcut 2 with Bombs and pass into its secluded area.	Defeat every enemy.
Whiterea	Use the easternmost exit of Secret Shortcut 3.	Jump across the platforms.
Western Neverwither	Swim southeast from the lake where Faie was first met.	Cross gaps while the floor arrows force movement.
Garretbelt	Head north from the guidepost.	Press the floor buttons: Bottom Middle, Middle, Top Middle, Top Left, Middle Left.
Eddartrayl	Use the Secret Shortcut southwest of Western Eddartrayl's guidepost.	Defeat the Greatsword and Great Bow Guardians.

Age of Magic routes

Westerea	Search the eastern side of the swamp.	Activate two buttons without stepping on any platform twice.
Eddartrayl	Search the easternmost area.	Time switches and explosions to activate the far crystal.
Western Eddartrayl	Pass Secret Shortcut 5.	Use the trampolines to cross the room.
Southern Whiterea	Pass Monster Trail 4.	Defeat the two Guardians and two Elpands.
Southern Garretbelt	Search the cliff beside the Doorway of Time.	Defeat the enemies without falling from the platforms.

Age of Budding routes

Location	Approach	Challenge
Eddartrayl	Use the site where the Doorway of Time stands in the Age of Safekeeping.	Shoot every crystal with the Bow.
Eddartrayl	Search near the Southern Caves - Western Edge guidepost.	Defeat all enemies that appear.
Westerea lake	Reach the small island on its southwestern side.	Defeat every enemy in the room.
Northwestern Westerea	Pass Monster Trail 3.	Cross the platforms over lava.
Neverwither	Pass Monster Trail 6 to the raised area beside Grandtree.	Adjust the mirrors to direct the laser onto the pylons.
Northern Garretbelt	Pass Monster Trail 5.	Find the route through the dark maze.

Useful tools and puzzle checks

Warp can reposition Elliot around a movable pillar or across a gap, but the required switch still needs to remain pressed. In the Whiterea ice-block room, all three blocks must end on switches before the door opens. On platforms with restricted movement, plan the next landing before jumping so a forced arrow does not carry Elliot past it.

Combat shrines are separate from the ordinary dungeon boss route. Some pair the Greatsword and Great Bow Guardians, and another uses two Greatsword Guardians. A loadout with both close and ranged attacks helps when enemy positioning makes a single approach awkward. See Enemies and Bosses for the Guardian types and Exploration and Puzzles for the wider travel systems.
