Jubilee is a rebel faction in Subnautica 2, made up of earlier survivors on the ocean moon Proteus. The group is led by Nahema Nakota and is fixated on the World Tree. Jubilee is presented as in-world lore, and the details here appear to be of medium confidence in the current Early Access build.

Origins

Jubilee is described as a faction of survivors who reached Proteus before the player's group of Pioneers. Rather than continuing to follow the goals of the Alterra colonization effort, they appear to have broken away into their own rebel group, which is why they are framed as rebels rather than as part of the surviving colony.

Nahema Nakota

Nahema Nakota is named as the leader of Jubilee. The faction's direction and its fixation on the World Tree are tied to her leadership. Beyond her role at the head of the group, further details about her appear to be limited in the current Early Access build.

Fixation on the World Tree

Jubilee is fixated on the World Tree, a structure tied to the announced future Xanadu region. The same World Tree is the subject of the Axum transmission the player receives at the end of the current chapter, which connects Jubilee's interest to the larger story thread the Early Access build sets up.

Masefield Syndrome

Jubilee is tied to Masefield Syndrome, described as a psychosis afflicting earlier colonists on Proteus. The connection appears to link the faction's beliefs and behavior to this condition among the survivors who came before the player.
