Stronghold 4 Demo is the free Windows demo of Stronghold 4. A new demo released on October 8, 2026 starts with Free Build, while Skirmish is scheduled to arrive on October 19. The full game is scheduled to enter Early Access on December 7, 2026.

October Free Build demo

Free Build lets players construct a citadel section by section, then view it in peace or test it against enemy incursions. Firefly describes the demo map as its largest ever, without giving exact dimensions.

The unit and defensive features are covered under Siege and Warfare. The named production chains belong to The Castle Economy, while Building Your Castle covers construction. The announcement identifies these additions without publishing Captain statistics or wool and weaving recipes.

Earlier public demo

The first public demo launched on June 23, 2026. It contained two missions that asked players to aid Sir Longarm and battle The Rat. That June mission lineup is historical and differs from the October announcement of Free Build followed by Skirmish.

Platform and listing features

The separate demo listing is free and identifies Windows support. Its published minimum and recommended requirements each state that a 64-bit processor and operating system are required. It does not provide the full CPU, graphics, memory and storage table published for the main game under System Requirements.
