Added full chest type breakdown, all 43 overworld locations, and 18 NPC bedroom chest locations from Screen Hype
Overworld chests: Found across Starsand Island in houses, businesses, gardens, and along roads. Contain resources, consumables, and blueprints. There are 43 of these.
Relationship-locked chests: Two chests per NPC bedroom. One holds exclusive decor items. The other refreshes weekly with items you have collected. Both require Level 3 Affection.
Moonlit Forest chests: Found inside the Moonlit Forest. See the Moonlit Forest chests guide.
Minigame chests: Hidden chests revealed by completing a minigame or action. Look for red sparkles.
Treasure Map chests: Found via Treasure Maps. Random locations -- you must hold the map to dig them up.
There are 43 treasure chests around Starsand Town and the rest of the island.
#1: On Blue Beach's pier.
#2: On the pier of Windflute Island (swim across from Blue Beach).
#42: By the stairs leading down to Blue Beach's sand.
#3: Behind your house, near the Damaged Door to the Moonlit Forest.
#10: Left of the bridge near your home.
#11: Bottom of the stairs to the right of the bridge by your home.
#4: In the pavilion in the Flower Corridor.
#5: Behind the projection screen in the Flower Corridor.
#7: On the road north of the Exploration Club.
#8: Across from the archery targets in Green Meadow.
#9: At the back of the Green Pasture Ranch main building.
#6: On the road under the cliff holding up Bastrom Heights.
#12: Across from the General Store, by the wall.
#13: Behind the cash register on the upper level of Soluna Cafe.
#14: Inside the kitchen in the Happiness Seed Shop.
#15: At the front of Ethereal Styles.
#16: Inside the grey shed by Sagewood's house.
#43: Behind the vending machines on the left side of Marlo's Morning Delights.
#17: West side of Cloud Rest Lake, off the path near the short pier.
#18: On the southern Cloud Rest Lake pier.
#19: Behind the wall on the north side of the lake.
#20: On the hill north of the lake, next to the dirt path.
#28: In the pavilion east of Cloud Rest Lake.
#21: Right of the main Bastrom Heights temple.
#22: Left of the Bastrom Heights pond.
#23: Behind the stone tablet in the center pavilion.
#24: Outside the temple where Youfang is (exit right, chest on the left).
#25: Back of the highest temple on the hill.
#26: Inside a secret pavilion north of Bastrom Heights (jump off the mountain from the highest temple, aim for the pavilion below).
#27: On the road under the cliff on the right side of the island.
#29: By the large tree behind the Panda House.
#30: At the back of Hattie's house.
#31: Tucked in the garden corner under Aureleaf Kitchen (drop down from the outdoor area or climb the staircase and jump).
#32: Right side of Aureleaf Kitchen.
#33: Back of the hot springs area (follow the building around to the right).
#34: Under the staircase near the park/outdoor market area with the decorative cherry blossom.
#35: End of the Crane Cape pier.
#36: On the unmapped island near Crane Cape (swim across; visible from the lighthouse).
#37: End of the pier near Francis' home.
#38: By the rental bikes next to Francis' home.
#39: On the pier by Marston's house.
#40: In a circular beach stall on Half-Moon Bay.
#41: By the vending machines near the picnic tables above Half-Moon Bay.
Each NPC with a bedroom has two chests that unlock at Level 3 Affection. The first holds exclusive decor related to that character. The second refreshes weekly with items you have found during gameplay. Both chests disappear after opening and reappear weekly.
Alex: Upstairs above Lex's Woodworks.
Aurelis: Up the stairs above Aureleaf Kitchen.
Charlene: Behind the staff gate by Soluna Cafe (unlock condition unclear).
Doctor Fang: Inside his house on the far left of the island. Arrives Autumn 1.
Francis/Delphin: Upstairs in Francis' home (stairs at back of building).
Graminova: Upstairs in the Happiness Seed Shop (stairs around the back).
Loren: Inside Chrono Arcade.
Lunelle: Above Ethereal Styles.
Neona: Up the stairs to the left of G-Power Bikes.
Nia: Inside Nia's house. Arrives Autumn 1.
Pastelle: Upstairs in Green Pasture Ranch.
Serena: Inside Serena's house, ground floor.
Sylvain: Stairs to the left of Silvan Notes.
Solara: Upstairs in her house.
Stella: Inside Woof & Wow Pets.
Youfang: Inside the main Bastrom Temple.
Zephyria: Upstairs in the Exploration Club.
Zerine: Up the stairs to the left of the General Store.
Gust and Ginger arrive on Summer 23 of your first year and likely have their own bedroom chests as well.
