Revision 1

Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches worldwide on October 6, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This page collects what has been published about the launch itself: the date and time the storefronts list, how each platform is sold, and what had and had not been announced in the final days before release. The game had not launched when this page was written, so everything here describes the plan as published rather than the launch as it happened.

Release Date

The October 6 date was revealed on April 30, 2026, when pre-orders opened and the editions were announced. The studio announced that the game had gone gold in August 2026, meaning the finished build was signed off for manufacture well ahead of release; the official and developer sites date that announcement August 19, and the Steam announcement is dated August 20. The developers' official FAQ describes the launch as worldwide on October 6, and the date is the same on every platform.

Launch Time

Neither Fuse Games nor Secret Mode has announced a launch hour. The storefronts carry one in their listing data: the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store both list the release at 09:00 UTC on October 6, 2026. Read as a single global moment, that converts to the local times below. Treat it as storefront data rather than an announcement, since the publisher has not confirmed it and the PC store page does not show an exact unlock time.

On PC, the store page showed the game as planning to unlock in approximately four days when checked on October 2, 2026, which is consistent with an October 6 release but does not give an hour.

Platforms and Storefronts

The Standard Edition is $59.99, the Deluxe Edition $79.99 and the physical Collector's Edition $159.99, with the full contents on Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses. The PlayStation 5 version carries the PS5 Pro Enhanced label on the PlayStation Store. Online multiplayer on console needs a platform subscription, while the campaign, scenarios and Arcade events can be played offline, as covered on Multiplayer.

Install Size and Preload

The PC minimum specification asks for 50 GB of SSD storage, covered on System Requirements. The Xbox Store's product data lists a maximum install size of 39,735,742,464 bytes, roughly 40 GB, for the Xbox version. Install sizes listed before release can change once launch updates arrive. As of October 2, 2026, no preload or pre-download date had been announced on any platform's storefront, and no early access period had been announced for any edition.

Before Launch

The final weeks before release brought a run of official material: the four-part Under the Hood with Hibi vehicle series, which ended with podracers on September 29, the Sounds of the Galactic League series on the score and cast in late September, and a Collector's Edition unboxing video on October 1. Several launch details were still unannounced a few days before release, and the table below records them as of October 2, 2026.

Launch-Day Soundtrack

The Original Video Game Soundtrack, a 21-track album by composer Gordy Haab, is scheduled for release on October 6, 2026, the same day as the game. Its main theme was released early as a single on September 18. The track list and the voice cast are on Music and Voice Cast.

Release Timeline

How the studio reached this point is covered on Development.
