Robert Kaiser founded rokaplay in 2009 at the age of 26, after spending roughly a decade working in a corporate environment. He started the company with 7,000 EUR of personal funds. The company grew from those modest beginnings into one of Germany's recognizable indie game publishers, with a focus on colorful, accessible games.

rokaplay Bou-tique

rokaplay operates a sub-label called rokaplay Bou-tique. This label is used for publishing games that fall outside the company's typical cozy genre. Relationship with Cyberwave

rokaplay serves as the publisher for both of Cyberwave's games: Solarpunk and A Game About Digging A Hole. The publisher handles marketing, distribution, platform relationships, and business operations while Cyberwave focuses on development. The Kickstarter campaign for Solarpunk, which raised 305,266 EUR from 6,312 backers, was run with rokaplay's support and helped establish the game's community before release.
