Silver Studio is the Shanghai development arm of Happy Elements. The Chinese storefront listing names 上海乐元素世界科技有限公司 (Shanghai Happy Elements World Technology) as the developing legal entity and 乐元素 as the operator, and describes the game as self-developed inside the group. The studio is a separate entity from Elementa, the Singapore company that handles global publishing: the studio builds the game, Elementa ships it outside China. The relationship between the studio and its parent company follows a pattern common in the Chinese game industry: the parent company (Happy Elements, headquartered in Beijing) maintains specialized development divisions in different cities, each focused on a particular project or genre.
Neither the founding date nor the team size has been published. What is documented is that the team is building Silver Palace from the ground up with Unreal Engine 5, targeting PC, mobile and PlayStation 5.
Silver Palace was first revealed publicly in May 2025 and entered its first closed beta (the Monotype Beta) in January 2026. The game's production values, including high-fidelity character models, open-world environments, and cinematic cutscenes, suggest a large team with substantial resources. For a deeper look at the project timeline, see Development History.
The studio ran an offline demo event in Shanghai on 3 August 2025, with sign-ups taken through the game's Chinese social account and closing on 26 July. It was the first time members of the public played the investigation and combat loop outside a controlled press setting.
Since then the project has run two closed beta tests, the Monotype Beta in January 2026 and the Dichotomy Beta from 23 July to 13 August 2026, alongside a 2026 exhibition tour taking in Los Angeles, Paris, Shanghai, Guangzhou, New York and Cologne. The Cologne showing at the end of August 2026 brought the studio's first award nomination, for best mobile game, which the game did not win. The same week confirmed a PlayStation 5 version, support for DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing at launch, and a multiplayer mode called House of Greed. A third closed beta, which the team calls the final test, is planned and has no announced date.
The studio chose Unreal Engine 5 as Silver Palace's engine. This choice places Silver Palace alongside a growing number of Chinese-developed action RPGs that have adopted UE5 for its rendering capabilities, open-world streaming tools, and cross-platform support. The Monotype Beta demonstrated high visual fidelity with detailed character models, real-time lighting, and large traversable environments.
Silver Studio has no known previous releases or publicly documented projects prior to Silver Palace. Every other named team inside the parent group carries a prior mobile-game catalogue, and Silver Palace is the first title to ship under the Silver Studio name.
