The Guren Express

The Guren Express is Chigusa Choko's RV: a heavily modified motorhome that doubles as her home, her transport across the country, and the place every progression system in the game resolves. NEKCOM's own English materials call it Choko's RV, the Guren Express. Its Japanese name reads Guren-go, and the vehicle carries Guren Express lettering along its side. One vehicle, one name, despite the two forms turning up in different languages.
Official copy describes it as a massive RV and a home on wheels, where players put the weapons, outfits, items and experience gained from their travels to good use. That makes it the hub of the game: Daily Activities are performed inside it, and the levelling and upgrade systems described on Progression are fed by what she brings back to it.
It is also how Choko covers ground. Travel between city areas happens in the RV, by fast travel or by driving, which is what holds together the semi-open structure described on Cities and World Structure. A 2024 developer statement said the player drives the RV personally rather than watching it move in a cutscene. As of September 2026 nothing has been shown of how the driving handles, so this page says nothing about handling, speed, fuel or damage.
The front of the vehicle carries a drill. Choko also wields a drill as a weapon, covered separately on The Drill.
Choko is described as recovering the vehicle from ruins early in the story and repairing it. That has not appeared in first-party copy, so it is recorded here as provisional rather than confirmed.
Customising the RV's interior is a confirmed shipping system rather than a demo experiment. NEKCOM named it as one of the two things the gamescom 2026 demo rest and progression slice was built to show, alongside the activities themselves, and an earlier publisher caption said players would be able to customise and upgrade the vehicle. As of September 2026 no costs, no tiers and no catalogue of furnishings have been published, so none are listed here.
The interior below was seen in the build shown at gamescom 2026, whose parameters the developers adjusted for the showing and whose system details they say do not represent the final product.
Fixture | What it was used for in the demo build |
|---|---|
Table | Eating and drinking, both handled as Daily Activities |
Sofa | Reading, another of the daily routines |
Fridge | Taking a cold drink |
Bath | Bathing, which doubles as a minigame, see Minigames |
Training equipment | Weight training, also playable as a minigame |
Wall display | A housing system that lets items collected out in the world be mounted on the walls |
Shelves | Collectibles, including in-world games that can then be played inside the RV |
A first-person view could be toggled inside. The vehicle also appeared to have a second floor, which was locked in that build. As of September 2026 nothing has been said about what is up there, and this page does not speculate.
In the demo, the RV was parked at a camp at the foot of Mount Neo Yokohama. Michael Hero and Bubba had pitched tents outside it and could both be spoken to there. Whether the camp behaves the same way elsewhere in the finished game had not been described as of September 2026.
