Chigusa Choko gets stronger along four tracks that feed each other. She earns experience and levels up, she spends points on skill trees, she enhances individual weapons, and she performs Daily Activities inside The Guren Express between fights. The publisher's copy states the last of those directly: you will upgrade Choko's stats and unlock new abilities through a range of playful Daily Activities.
One caution runs through everything below. As of September 2026, no source has published an English name for a single stat, skill, ability, accessory or outfit in this game, and no numbers for costs, caps or experience curves have been confirmed. Figures visible in published screenshots of builds in development are recorded as such and are not shipping values. This page describes what each system does and stops there.

Levelling
Choko earns experience through combat and levels up, and levelling raises her stats. The publisher's own wording is that players further enhance Choko's stats as they level up. Taking a level also grants points that are spent on the skill tree.
In the build shown at gamescom 2026, gaining a level visibly improved several of Choko's underlying attributes and handed over points for the tree. That build had its parameters adjusted by the developers for the showing, so the rates seen there say nothing about the finished game. Her moment-to-moment combat resources are documented separately on Stamina and Rage and Rage Points; how the skill tree touches either of them has not been described.
Skill Trees
There are two kinds, and this is the best-attested part of the progression design after Daily Activities. A 2024 developer statement described skill trees for Choko herself and separate skill trees for individual weapons, which makes investing in a favourite weapon a different decision from investing in the character. As of September 2026, what sits inside either tree has not been published: no skill or ability has been named, and neither has the currency the points are spent in, so this page calls them points spent on the skill tree and leaves it there.
Weapon Upgrades
A 2023 developer statement said weapons can be enhanced and upgraded, and that doing so either augments a weapon's abilities or alters its characteristics. As of September 2026 no cost, level cap, upgrade tier or enhancement material has been confirmed. Figures for those have circulated but have never been confirmed by the studio, so they are not published here. Weapons covers the arsenal itself.
Daily Activities
The routines Choko performs in her RV are the progression system the studio talks about most. They raise stats, and completing them is tied to unlocking new abilities. In the demo build they drew on a pool of action points, and the studio said in 2026 that those points are earned by progressing through the game. An earlier, unconfirmed account of other ways to earn them is not repeated here. An earlier round of official copy called the same system Living Activities; that label has been superseded. A published store screenshot of the activity screen shows how one of these routines is committed: the activity is chosen, its action point cost is displayed, and the screen projects a numeric gain to two attributes along with a short list of random combat buffs whose names carry roman numerals. Consumables can be attached to the activity to push the result toward a particular attribute. That capture comes from the Simplified Chinese build, so the English labels are not yet known, and it shows a game in development rather than final balance.
Minigames and Side Content
Growth is not confined to fighting. A 2024 developer statement said minigames and side missions raise stats too, and the publisher's copy ties unlocking new abilities to completing minigames. Minigames lists what has actually been shown or named.
Outfits and Accessories
Different outfits change Choko's appearance and are among the rewards of travel. As of September 2026 none has been named, and outfits have not been announced as paid or downloadable content. Accessories that modify stats have also been described, though not in first-party copy, so treat that one as provisional. No accessory has been named either.
Progression and Difficulty
The studio said in 2026 that stat growth and the skill tree, not the difficulty setting, are how a player is meant to get past content that is beating them, and that nobody will be gated behind a difficulty choice. Three difficulty levels exist. None has a settled English name, so none is named here. Gameplay has the wider tour.
