System Requirements
September 21, 2026 at 06:22 AM
Added a known hardware issues table covering Intel 13th and 14th Gen K-series crashes, Intel GPU artifacts, the missing 3440x1440 resolution and the Steam Input conflict
SAND: Raiders of Sophie requires a 64-bit processor and operating system, and a broadband internet connection, since it is an always-online multiplayer PvPvE game. The following minimum and recommended specifications are the ones published on the game's Steam store page for its Early Access launch. As an Early Access title, these figures may still be refined during Early Access. They cover the PC version only; the developers have not published console specifications for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
OS | Windows 10 64-bit |
Processor | Intel Core i5 (8th Gen) or AMD Ryzen 5 (2000 Series) or equivalent |
Memory | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, AMD Radeon RX 570, or Intel Arc A380 |
DirectX | Version 11 |
Storage | 11 GB available space |
Network | Broadband internet connection |
Component | Recommended |
|---|---|
OS | Windows 11 64-bit |
Processor | Intel Core i5 (13th Gen) or AMD Ryzen 5 (7000 Series) or equivalent |
Memory | 32 GB RAM |
Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT |
DirectX | Version 11 |
Storage | 11 GB available space |
Network | Broadband internet connection |
These are the official requirements from the game's Steam store page. Requirements may still change as the game moves through Early Access. For the online systems that the broadband requirement supports, see Servers and Online.
The game is Windows-only on its PC storefront; there are no macOS or Linux builds listed. A Linux route does exist in practice, since the developers noted during the pre-launch tests that the compatibility layer works provided the BattlEye runtime is installed, but it is not an advertised platform and is not covered by the requirements above.
The publisher's support pages and the September 2026 patch notes list a handful of hardware-specific problems. None of them changes the requirements above, but they are worth knowing before blaming the specification.
Hardware | Issue | Advice |
|---|---|---|
Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen K, KF and KS processors | Crashes and general instability, most often on the higher-end i7 and i9 parts | Update the motherboard BIOS and drivers through the board maker, keep the game, graphics drivers and operating system current, and follow the processor maker's own guidance if it persists |
Intel graphics processors | Graphical glitches and artifacts, listed as a known issue with the September 10, 2026 update | No workaround published |
3440x1440 displays | The resolution is not offered in the settings, listed as a known issue as of September 10, 2026 | No workaround published |
Controllers through Steam Input | Input problems while Steam Input is enabled for the game | Disable Steam Input for the game; the developers say a fix is in progress |
Steam Deck and Linux | The anti-cheat will not start without its compatibility runtime | Install the Proton BattlEye Runtime from the library before launching |
A fuller list of the faults the team has acknowledged in the current build, hardware-related or not, is on Known Issues.
The interface and subtitles are available in ten languages: English, Ukrainian, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese. None of them carry full voice audio. Console requirements for the announced PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions have not been published, though the Xbox listing is tagged as optimised for current-generation hardware. See Release and Platforms for platform status.
