11 The Cyclops is the second progression boss after the Guardian of Minerva and the gatekeeper of the late mid-game in Romestead. Encountered at the end of The Eye dungeon in the Desert biome, the fight is part of the Virgil's Poem quest chain and drops the Tectonic armor set.

99 The Virgil's Poem quest sets up the Cyclops as the descendant of the mythological cyclopes whose forging hammer kept Vulcan's fires lit. Defeating him is presented in-game as both a progression milestone and a callback to the original Cyclops drops, which include the Signet of Demo Completion: a literal medallion awarded to demo players who killed the Cyclops there as well.
