Overview

Storm Bird (岚鸟) is a Wing/Flying-type spirit that serves as the player's primary air mount in Roco Kingdom: World. It evolves from Winter Feather Sparrow (冬羽雀) at level 30, transforming from a small companion bird into a majestic flying mount capable of carrying the player through the skies of the Kaluoxi'a Continent. Air traversal unlocks an enormous amount of previously inaccessible content, making Storm Bird one of the most important spirits in the entire game.

Evolution Line

Winter Feather Sparrow is distributed to all players as a starter reward during the early portions of the game. This ensures that every player has a path to obtaining an air mount without relying on rare captures or premium items. The sparrow is a small, unassuming companion at first, useful primarily as a Flying-type battler in the early levels.

At level 30, Winter Feather Sparrow evolves into Storm Bird, dramatically increasing in size and unlocking the air mount function. This evolution is one of the most anticipated milestones for new players, as air traversal transforms the gameplay experience by opening up elevated platforms, mountain peaks, floating structures, and shortcuts between distant zones.

Air Traversal

Once Storm Bird is available as a mount, the player can summon it in most outdoor areas to take flight. Air traversal allows free movement in three dimensions, subject to a stamina meter that depletes during sustained flight and regenerates when landing. The following types of areas become accessible through air travel.

• Mountain Peaks: Many peaks in the Kaluoxi'a Continent contain treasure chests, rare spirit spawns, and scenic viewpoints.

• Floating Platforms: Ancient ruins and structures suspended in the air that cannot be reached by any other means.

• Elevated Cliffs: Cliff faces with ledges and caves that are only visible and reachable from the air.

• Shortcut Routes: Flying between distant zones is often faster than ground travel, especially once fast-travel points are limited.

• Storm Language Peak: The location where Storm Bird is thematically connected; contains Wing-type spirit encounters and air-related challenges.

Air traversal also enables the player to spot landmarks, hidden items, and secret entrances from above. Many exploration puzzles are designed to require an aerial perspective, where the solution is only visible when flying over the area.

Combat Utility

Storm Bird is not just a mount; it is a solid Wing/Flying-type combatant. Its stats improve significantly upon evolution, and its movepool includes both single-target and area-of-effect Flying-type attacks. Storm Bird's speed stat tends to be high, making it an effective lead spirit in battles where moving first matters.

In the recommended early-game team composition, Storm Bird fills the aerial attacker slot. Its type coverage complements Water-type spirits like Duck Jiji and Fire-type starters, giving the team a balanced offensive spread across the first 15 to 30 levels. Post-evolution, Storm Bird remains competitive in the combat system through mid-game and can serve as a speed-based threat in certain PvP compositions.

• Prioritize leveling Winter Feather Sparrow to 30 as early as possible; the quality-of-life improvement from air travel is enormous.

• During flight, look down frequently to spot glowing collectibles, hidden cave entrances, and rare spirit spawn indicators.

• Storm Bird's speed stat makes it an excellent choice for the first slot in PvP matches where outpacing your opponent matters.

• Pair Storm Bird with Ground or Rock-type spirits to cover its Electric and Ice weaknesses.

• Visit Storm Language Peak after evolving Storm Bird to find area-specific challenges and Wing-type spirit encounters.

• The flight stamina meter recharges faster when you land on elevated surfaces; use cliff edges and rooftops as rest points during long flights.
