Season 1: Dark Night Collecting Light (暗夜拾光) is the inaugural seasonal content update for Roco Kingdom: World. The season launched on March 26, 2026, alongside the game's global release, and runs for approximately two months. It introduces a new legendary spirit, eight new spirit families, 16 season-exclusive shiny colorations, the Nightmare Shackles encounter system, a multi-tier Light-Collecting Pass, the Box Research Laboratory seasonal hub, and the Radiant Competition PvP tournament.
As the first season, Dark Night Collecting Light establishes the template for all future seasonal content. Players earn seasonal currency, complete investigation tasks, and progress through pass levels to unlock rewards that will not be available after the season ends. The season also marks the debut of the Territory Trial endgame PvE mode.
Each season in Roco Kingdom: World lasts approximately two months. Season 1 began on March 26, 2026, coinciding with the global launch. The exact end date is communicated through in-game announcements. Players are encouraged to complete time-limited objectives early to avoid missing exclusive rewards as the season draws to a close.

Dragon Breath Parasus (龙息帕尔) is the Season 1 legendary spirit. It is a Dark/Evil-type creature with a fearsome stat spread designed for physical aggression. Dragon Breath Parasus is available to all players for free by completing Season Assignment Chapter 1, which rewards the spirit's egg. This makes it one of the most accessible legendary spirits in the game.
Dragon Breath Parasus possesses the exclusive ability Evil Thought Exchange (恶念交换). When activated, this ability steals one of the opponent's Morale Points and adds it to your own. In the context of PvP, where each player starts with only 4 Morale Points, stealing even a single point can swing the entire match. The ability is feared at higher ranks because it simultaneously weakens the opponent's staying power while extending your own.
Dragon Breath Parasus boasts a species value total of 617, placing it firmly in the legendary tier. Its stat distribution heavily favors physical offense and bulk.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
HP | 130 |
Physical ATK | 161 |
Special ATK | 29 |
Physical DEF | 131 |
Special DEF | 94 |
Speed | 100 |
Total Species Value | 617 |
With 161 Physical ATK and only 29 Special ATK, Dragon Breath Parasus is a dedicated physical attacker. Its 131 Physical DEF and 130 HP provide solid survivability on the physical side, though its 94 Special DEF leaves it somewhat vulnerable to special attackers.
Complete Season Assignment Chapter 1 to receive the spirit's egg. The quest line involves a series of story battles and exploration objectives that introduce the season's narrative. Once the egg is obtained, hatch it through the standard breeding system. The evolution chain is: Small Parsa evolves at Level 28 into Parsathus, which evolves at Level 40 into Dragon Breath Parasus. A special release condition requires catching 3 Parsathus and releasing 2 of them to trigger the final transformation.
Nightmare Shackles is the core seasonal encounter mechanic. It provides the primary method for encountering the eight new Season 1 spirits and their shiny variants.
To trigger a Nightmare Shackles encounter, the player must consecutively capture 20 or more wild spirits within a specific area. Once the threshold is reached, there is a probability-based chance that a corrupted Nightmare spirit will spawn. The trigger chance increases as the capture streak grows beyond 20.
Corrupted Nightmare spirits appear surrounded by a dark purple aura. Before any Gulu Ball can be thrown, the player must defeat the spirit's Nightmare Shield in combat. The shield functions as an additional health bar with elevated defenses. Only after the shield is broken does the spirit become catchable.
After defeating a Nightmare spirit, one of three outcomes occurs:
Revert to Normal: The spirit sheds its corruption and returns to its standard form. This is the most common outcome.
Corruption Bloodline: The spirit retains a purple pollution aura, indicating it carries the Corruption Bloodline. This is a unique variant with altered abilities.
Shiny Variant: The spirit transforms into a shiny version with an alternate color palette. This has a base chance of 1.8% per encounter.
The game tracks how many consecutive Nightmare encounters have yielded non-shiny results. After 80 encounters without obtaining a shiny variant, the pity system guarantees that the next Nightmare spirit will be shiny. This pity counter resets if the player flees from a Nightmare battle, loses the fight, or runs out of MP during the encounter.

Season 1 introduces eight new spirit families, all obtainable exclusively through the Nightmare Shackles mechanic. These spirits and their evolutions can only be encountered during Season 1, making them time-limited additions to a player's collection.
Spirit | Chinese Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Pink Star Jr. | 粉星仔 | Illusion | A lightweight meteor-themed spirit with a soft, resilient body; the base form of the Pink Star family |
Fluffy Pink Star | 粉粉星 | Electric / Illusion | Dual-type evolution of the Pink Star line, carrying concentrated starlight energy |
Bethel | 贝瑟 | Mechanical / Fire | Hard-shelled spirit that evolves into Baikal at Level 28 and Begus at Level 38 |
Crescent Snow Bear | 月牙雪熊 | Ice / Illusion | Carries a star-shaped forehead marking; enters sleep when separated from its star |
Hollow Skull | 空空颅 | Ghost | Nocturnal heat-sensing spirit; evolves into Night Sleeper at Level 42 |
Twin-Light Fish | 双灯鱼 | Water / Electric | Bioluminescent fish spirit that must keep its head lamps above the water surface; evolves into Sharp Lamp Fish at Level 30 |
Burning Firewood Bug | 燃薪虫 | Fire/Bug | A fire-type insect prone to accidental blazes; evolves into Emberkind Bug |
Light-Devouring Buzz | 嗜光嗡嗡 | Dark / Light | Possesses an abdominal organ that absorbs light energy |
Each of the eight new spirit families has two forms (base and final evolution), resulting in 16 season-exclusive shiny colorations. Shiny variants feature alternate color palettes and subtle visual effects. Once Season 1 ends, these specific shiny appearances will no longer be obtainable in the wild, making them highly sought-after collector's items.
The Light-Collecting Pass (拾光通行证) is Season 1's main progression track, consisting of 100 levels of rewards across free and paid tiers. It offers two thematic tracks: Moonlight and Starlight.
At the start of the season, players choose between two exclusive spirits tied to the pass: Speedy Light Beast (疾光千兽, Light type) or Fuzzy Fairy (绒仙子, Bug type). The chosen spirit is awarded at an early pass level and cannot be obtained through any other means during the season.
Players who do not purchase the pass still have a path to these exclusive spirits. By visiting a friend who has purchased the pass, you can enter their world and catch the exclusive spirit there for free. This social mechanic encourages cooperative play and rewards having an active friends list.
Pass Tier | Solo Price | Duo-Buy Price (Each) | Contents |
|---|---|---|---|
Basic Contract Pass | 68 RMB | 54 RMB (108 RMB for two) | Standard paid reward track with spirit eggs, cosmetics, and currency |
Shining Contract Pass | 128 RMB | 104 RMB (208 RMB for two) | Everything in Basic plus premium cosmetics, extra Wish Stars, and bonus spirit materials |
The Duo-Buy option allows two friends to purchase together at a discounted rate. This is the most cost-effective option for players who have a regular gaming partner.
All players have access to the free tier, which includes nature correction materials, IV correction items, shiny eggs, and various consumables distributed across the 100 levels. These rewards provide meaningful progression even for players who choose not to spend real money.
Season 1 features the Radiant Competition as its flagship PvP tournament. During the event window, all ranked PvP rewards are doubled, making it the most efficient time to climb the ladder and stockpile resources. The Radiant Competition also offers exclusive seasonal medals and cosmetics for top-performing players.
Season 1 also marks the debut of the Territory Trial, a high-difficulty PvE mode available to players at level 50 and above. The Territory Trial features a unique trait-sharing mechanic where two deployed spirits share abilities, requiring flexible team composition and deep understanding of ability synergies. It was introduced alongside the April 2, 2026 content update.
The Season Hall for Season 1 is themed as the Box Research Laboratory, a seasonal hub area overseen by the NPC Lu Meng, an evil-type researcher. Players complete investigation tasks assigned by Lu Meng, and the laboratory auto-generates Starlight Value over time based on completed tasks.
Accumulated Starlight Value can be exchanged for various rewards. The most notable exchange is Roco Shells for Capture Light Balls (80,000 Roco Shells each). The Season Hall provides passive income that rewards consistent daily engagement throughout the season.
The Season Shop uses Wish Stars as its primary currency, earned through the Light-Collecting Pass and various seasonal activities. It offers exclusive cosmetic items, furniture, emotes, and decorations that will not be available after Season 1 ends.
Costumes: Themed headpieces and outfits matching the Box Research Laboratory aesthetic, including the Researcher's Hat.
Toys: Decorative items such as the Old Suitcase, Knowledge Bench, and Comfortable Desk.
Emotes: Four new emotes (Greeting, Realization, Contemplation, Come Here), each with two upgrade levels that enhance the animation.
Furniture: The Star Dome Echo series, a collection of astronomical-themed furniture for the player's home, including a Star Orrery, Astrology Platform, Telescope, Astrology Tent, Carpet, and Lost Star.
The Season Shop also stocks commemorative items unique to Season 1. These include a memorial Coco Fruit Ball (roughly equivalent to an Advanced Gulu Ball) and a Season 1 nameplate. Both are intended as collector's items that prove participation in the game's inaugural season.
Season 1 received three mid-season content updates on April 2, April 9, and April 16. These patches added new spirits, events, and balance changes without ending the season. See the full Patch Notes article for the complete change log.

World Observation Notes (大世界观察笔记): April 17 to April 24 capture challenge gated by spirit height and weight thresholds, rewarding Light Prism Crystals and Sage Crystal Fragments.
