Overview
Items and equipment form the backbone of every trainer's toolkit in Roco Kingdom: World. From the Gulu Balls used to capture wild spirits to consumables that accelerate growth and modify traits, understanding what each item does and how to obtain it is essential for efficient progression. This guide covers all major item categories, including capture tools, key consumables, nature modification items, Skill Stones, and Spirit Fruits.
Capture Tools (Gulu Balls)
Gulu Balls are the primary tools for capturing wild spirits. Different ball types offer varying capture rates and bonus effects. Choosing the right ball for the situation can save time, Locke Coins, and premium currency. The table below lists all available Gulu Ball types.
Ball Type | Chinese Name | Effect | How to Obtain |
|---|---|---|---|
Normal Gulu Ball | - | Basic capture rate; the default ball for everyday use | Free to craft through the crafting system |
Rainbow Ball | 彩虹球 | Good capture rate; useful for nature-guaranteed catches when paired with nature selection | Crafting, events, and shop purchases |
King Ball | 国王球 | Guarantees the captured spirit has remarkable talent (了不起资质) | Purchase with 15,000 Locke Shells |
Colorful Ball | 炫彩球 | High chance of capturing a colorful (shiny) variant of the target spirit | Events, seasonal rewards, and limited-time shop |
Seasonal Colorful Ball | - | Guarantees a seasonal colorful variant with remarkable talent; the best ball for collectors | Seasonal event exclusive |
Prism Ball | - | 100% capture rate; guarantees the catch regardless of target spirit level or rarity | Rare event rewards and premium shop |
For most players, the Normal Gulu Ball is sufficient for common catches, while the King Ball is the go-to option for securing high-talent spirits. Save Prism Balls for extremely rare or hard-to-catch encounters where failure is not an option.
Key Items
Several consumable items play a central role in spirit training, evolution, and daily progression. Keeping a healthy stock of these items ensures smooth advancement through all stages of the game.
Item | Chinese Name | Purpose | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
Coco Fruits | 可可果 | Experience items fed directly to spirits to increase their level | Wild drops, daily quests, farming dungeons |
Aptitude Keys | 适格之钥 | Used for spirit aptitude improvement through the spirit cultivation system | Boss drops, event rewards, alchemy |
Magic Dust | 魔法粉尘 | Crafting material required for evolution items and advanced recipes | Shop purchase, boss drops, dungeon rewards |
Light Spirit Shards | - | Synthesized via the Alchemy system; used as an ingredient for spirit evolution | Alchemy crafting |
Leader Blood Essence Shards | - | Synthesized into Leader Blood Essence Potion, which unlocks a powerful evolution path for eligible spirits | Alchemy crafting, Territory Trial rewards |
Wish Stars | 许愿星 | Premium currency used for nature modification, cosmetics, and other premium services | In-app purchase, seasonal rewards, achievement milestones |
Coco Fruits are consumed in large quantities during leveling sessions, so it is wise to farm them regularly. Magic Dust and Light Spirit Shards are gated behind crafting, making the Alchemy system an important part of mid-to-late-game progression.
Nature Modification Items
Every spirit has a nature that provides stat bonuses and penalties. Two specialized items allow players to alter these effects, giving trainers more control over their spirit builds.
Item | Chinese Name | Effect | Cost / Source |
|---|---|---|---|
Broken Magic Mirror | 残缺魔镜 | Removes the negative stat effect of a spirit's nature while keeping the positive boost intact | 15 Wish Stars + 200,000 Locke Coins via Alchemy (limit: one craft per week) |
Mirror Frame | 镜面相框 | Removes both the positive and negative effects of a spirit's nature, resulting in neutral stat distribution | Available from the shop in the Spirit Cultivation Advancement Pack |
The Broken Magic Mirror is the more popular choice because it preserves the beneficial stat boost while eliminating the drawback. However, it is limited to one craft per week through the Alchemy system and costs both premium and standard currency. The Mirror Frame is simpler to acquire but less desirable since it strips away the positive effect as well.
Skill Stones
Skill Stones (技能石) are special items that teach spirits new moves they would not learn through natural leveling. Each Skill Stone corresponds to a particular element type, and the move it teaches is predetermined by the stone itself.
Different Skill Stones correspond to different element types. A fire-element Skill Stone teaches a fire move, a water-element stone teaches a water move, and so on.
Skill Stones can be obtained from dungeon clears, limited-time events, crafting through Alchemy, and certain boss drops.
Using a Skill Stone is permanent for that spirit. Choose carefully, because the move slot it occupies cannot be easily replaced.
Some Skill Stones teach moves that are exclusive to the stone and cannot be learned by any spirit through natural leveling. These are highly valued in competitive PvP for the strategic advantage they provide.
Before using a Skill Stone, review the target spirit's existing moveset and consider how the new move fits into your overall combat strategy. In many cases, a well-chosen Skill Stone can transform an average spirit into a formidable team member.
Spirit Fruits
Spirit Fruits (精灵果实) are lure items used to attract specific types of wild spirits to a designated area. Rather than searching the map for a particular spirit, players can place a Spirit Fruit in the wild and wait for the target to appear.
How Spirit Fruits Work
Obtain a Spirit Fruit that matches the type of spirit you want to attract. Different fruits correspond to different spirit types.
Travel to an appropriate wild area and place the fruit on the ground.
Wait for a spirit to be attracted to the fruit. The attraction is not guaranteed on the first attempt.
Once a spirit appears, engage it in battle and attempt to capture it with a Gulu Ball.
Attraction Rates
The probability of attracting a spirit increases with each consecutive fruit placement in the same session:
Placement | Approximate Attraction Rate |
|---|---|
First fruit | ~40% |
Second fruit | ~60% |
Third fruit | ~80% |
If the first fruit does not attract a spirit, place a second one in the same spot to boost the odds. By the third placement, the chance is high enough that most players will see a spawn. Spirit Fruits are consumable, so stock up before heading into the field.
Tips
Keep a variety of Gulu Balls in your inventory at all times. Encountering a rare spirit without the right ball type is one of the most frustrating experiences in the game.
Craft your weekly Broken Magic Mirror as soon as the cooldown resets. The one-per-week limit means falling behind on crafting delays your team optimization.
Spirit Fruits are most efficient when used in areas where the target spirit is already known to appear. Placing a fruit in a zone with no natural spawns of that type will not work.
Prioritize King Balls for spirits you intend to use in the Territory Trial or Shining Contest. Remarkable talent makes a noticeable difference in competitive content.
Check the Alchemy recipes regularly. New crafting options for Skill Stones and evolution materials are sometimes added with seasonal updates.
