Overview
Bethel (贝瑟) is a Mechanical and Fire dual-type spirit exclusive to Season 1 of Roco Kingdom: World. It is one of the eight Season 1 exclusive encounter spirits introduced at launch on March 26, 2026. Bethel is the base form of a three-stage evolution chain that produces Baikal (贝加尔) and ultimately Begus (贝古斯).
Bethel's defining feature is its hard, heavy shell, which it uses to defend against threats while drawing energy from stone and wood sources in its environment. Its dual Mechanical and Fire typing gives it a mixed offensive profile with broad coverage against Ice, Grass, Bug, and Cute targets.

How to Obtain
Bethel is a Season 1 exclusive encounter (赛季限定奇遇). It cannot be purchased from vendors or earned from the pass directly. Instead, players trigger a Nightmare Shackles encounter in a sanctuary stocked with the appropriate fruit pair, then capture the wild Bethel that appears.
Sanctuary Fruit Pair
The documented farming pair for Bethel uses two pure Fire-type sanctuary fruits. This cycles Nightmare triggers against Fire spirits without leaving the sanctuary zone, which preserves the shiny pity counter for the Bethel family.
Fruit pair: Fire-type sanctuary fruit plus a second Fire-type sanctuary fruit (Fire + Fire)
Rotation: Alternate captures in a 2 to 2 pattern between the two Fire families; the order does not matter
Sanctuary rule: Stay inside the sanctuary for the entire session to avoid resetting the Nightmare streak
Competitive Notes
Offensive coverage: Fire hits Grass, Ice, Bug, and Mechanical; Mechanical hits Ice, Cute, and Phantom. Together the dual typing covers most early-game defensive cores.
Defensive weaknesses: Because the line inherits both Fire and Mechanical weaknesses, Water and Ground moves hit it for heavy damage. Rain teams are particularly threatening.
Shiny availability: A shiny Bethel variant exists within the 16 season-exclusive shiny palette and can only be caught during the Season 1 window.
Tips
Capture multiple Bethels during the Season 1 window. The shiny rate is 1.8 percent per Nightmare encounter, which means most players need dozens of captures to roll the shiny variant.
Do not waste King Balls on base Bethel. Advanced Gulu Balls paired with the Fire fruit bonus are almost always enough.
Train at least one Bethel line member to Level 38. Only fully evolved Begus has access to the final-form skill pool.
