This is a running list of the most common questions about Rewinding Cadence as of mid-2026. Where the answer involves a number or a date that the developer has not confirmed publicly, the entry says so explicitly rather than guessing. Anything in this article that is contradicted by a future official announcement should be treated as out of date and the corresponding system or game-info article should be considered the source of truth.
Release and Access
When does the game launch?
A worldwide release date has not been announced. The closest milestone is the Crimson Test, a PC closed beta in mainland China that ran from March 30 to April 14, 2026. Additional beta phases are expected before the full launch but no specific window has been confirmed.
Which platforms is it on?
The confirmed platforms are PC, iOS, and Android. Console releases (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch) have not been announced. See platforms and release for the full breakdown.
Is there a global version?
A global rollout is planned but has not been dated. The first build was Chinese-region only, and current pre-registration runs through Chinese-region storefronts. International players who want to be ready should follow the official channels for confirmation when global signups open.
Can I play it now?
Not in a permanent open form. As of mid-2026 the only public access has been through the closed PC beta in mainland China. There is no public live-service version yet. See Crimson Test for what was playable in the closed test.
Monetization
Is the game free to play?
Yes. Rewinding Cadence is a free-to-play title with a gacha model for character acquisition. Specific gacha rates, pity rules, and the full set of paid systems have not been disclosed publicly.
What is the gacha for?
Public material confirms gacha is used for character acquisition. Whether weapons, equipment, or any other systems also use gacha has not been published in detail. See monetization for what is and is not confirmed.
Story and Gameplay
Do I have to start over every 42 days?
Not exactly. The world resets, but the Returner carries forward knowledge, certain bonds, and spirit-cultivation progress. Most player progression is built around what survives the reset, not what is wiped by it. See time loop for the full breakdown.
Do my dice rolls reset?
Within a single loop, a D20 dice outcome is sticky and can lock the rest of that conversation's branches. Across loops, dice gates are available again, so a route locked off by a failure on day three of one cycle can be retried on day three of the next.
Do I have to play with Chu?
Yes. The Returner is paired with Chu specifically as their spirit companion, and the pairing is fixed. Other playable characters in the cast pair with their own spirit companions, so changing the playable character changes the duo.
Is there co-op or multiplayer?
Public material has not confirmed co-op, raids, or PvP. The narrative core of the game is single-player and built around the loop. If post-launch social or co-op systems are added, this article will be updated to match.
Setup and Compatibility
What are the system requirements?
Final-release minimum and recommended specs have not been published. The closed-beta build had its own requirements, but those are build-specific and should not be cited as authoritative for hardware buying decisions. See Crimson Test for what is currently known.
Will my mobile and PC accounts share progress?
Cross-save and cross-play behavior has not been confirmed publicly. Until the developer announces a specific implementation, the wiki does not list a cross-save policy.
