Overview

Trubbish is a Poison-type Pokemon that can be befriended in Pokemon Pokopia. It has the Recycle specialty, shared with Garbodor. Trubbish plays a practical role in your town by converting waste materials into useful crafting resources, making it valuable for material processing throughout the game.

Recycle Specialty

The Recycle specialty allows Trubbish (and Garbodor) to convert otherwise low-value waste items into useful crafting materials. The two main conversions are:

Iron Ore is an important ingredient for smelting Iron Ingots at a furnace, which are needed for many building recipes and the Sparkling Skylands skyscraper reconstruction. Paper is used in furniture recipes, building components, and some quest deliveries.

How to Befriend

Trubbish can be encountered in Bleak Beach during the area's storyline. Create the appropriate habitat with the right combination of environmental elements. Check the Habitat Dex at the Pokemon Center PC for the exact habitat requirements.

Cooking Connection

One of the Bread recipes in Pokopia, the Recycled Bread, requires the Recycle specialty to make. This means you need a befriended Trubbish or Garbodor before you can cook Recycled Bread. Recycled Bread has a Bitter flavor and powers up the Cut transformation like all other bread varieties.

Tips

Place Trubbish near areas where you accumulate glass and wastepaper. Wastepaper is commonly found on Dream Islands (especially the Sky Dream Island accessed via the Dragonite Doll), so bring it back and let Trubbish convert it into Paper. Glass tends to accumulate from mining and foraging in Bleak Beach. Having both Trubbish and Garbodor increases your recycling throughput.
