The Storage specialty allows Pokemon to hold items for you, acting as portable extra inventory. Items held by Storage Pokemon can be used directly at crafting benches without being in your pockets. Only two Pokemon have this specialty: Gulpin and Swalot.

Swalot provides the largest portable storage in the game at 90 items, making it highly valuable for resource-intensive building projects.
Approach a Storage Pokemon and talk to it.
Select "Hold onto this" to deposit items, or "Give me that" to withdraw items.
When crafting at a Workbench, materials stored with a nearby Storage Pokemon are automatically accessible.
Gulpin has a personal request ("Fresh Carrots, Please") that must be completed before you can use its Storage specialty.
Storage Pokemon pair well with Packing Tips Books for maximum carrying capacity. Combined with Swalot (90) and the Handy Bag (10), you can carry up to 220 items total.
Keep a Storage Pokemon near your Workbench for seamless crafting without constantly running back to Storage Boxes.

Swalot offers the single largest storage bump in the game and functions as a second full inventory when placed near a Workbench.
When a Storage Pokemon's habitat is placed adjacent to a Workbench, items held by the Pokemon become craftable inputs without being transferred to your inventory first. This mirrors the behavior of Storage Boxes placed next to Workbenches. In practice, a settlement with a Workbench, a Storage Box, and a Swalot habitat all clustered together creates a one-stop crafting zone where you never need to reshuffle inventory.

Unlock Gulpin Storage as early as possible. The +30 slots carry a huge early-game quality-of-life boost.
Place Swalot's habitat adjacent to your main Workbench cluster. This saves countless trips to Storage Boxes during large crafting sessions.
Stack the Handy Bag expansion on top of Packing Tips purchases. The combined 220-slot capacity is enough for even the most material-intensive building projects.
Items stored with Gulpin or Swalot are safe from expiration or consumption. Food items remain fresh in Storage Pokemon inventories.
