Magmar is a Fire-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Spitfire Pokemon (Dex #163). Found near the mouth of a volcano, this fire-breather's body temperature is nearly 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Magmar is the middle stage of a three-member family that includes Magby and Magmortar. It carries the Burn specialty, which lets it process materials using fire.
Magmar is found at the Digging and Burning habitat (#116). A big furnace with equipment next to it. Someone might come to light the flame!

|---|---|---|
Wheelbarrow | 1 | Crafted or obtained |
Smelting Furnace | 1 | Crafted at a workbench |
Excavation Tools | 1 | Crafted or obtained |
Magmar appears as a Common visitor at this habitat. It is available during all times of day (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy). The Digging and Burning habitat can be built in multiple biomes including Rocky Ridges, Withered Wastelands, Bleak Beach, Sparkling Skylands, Palette Town, and Cloud Island.
Build the Digging and Burning habitat by placing a Wheelbarrow, Smelting Furnace, and Excavation Tools near each other. Since Magmar is a Common visitor, it should appear relatively quickly. Walk up and interact with it to add Magmar to your island. This habitat fits the fire theme well, so placing it in an area with warm-environment decorations helps attract Magmar faster.
Magmar has the Burn specialty. Pokemon with the Burn specialty can use fire to process raw materials, such as smelting ore into ingots or cooking food. Magmar shares this specialty with its pre-evolution Magby and its evolution Magmortar. While Magby is available earlier in the game at the Pretty Flower Bed in Palette Town, Magmar offers a stronger option for players looking to boost their fire-based processing output.

Magmar belongs to a three-stage family alongside Magby (Dex #162) and Magmortar (Dex #164). In the main Pokemon series, Magby evolves into Magmar at level 30, and Magmar evolves into Magmortar when traded holding a Magmarizer. In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each member must be found at its own habitat independently. All three share the Burn specialty, though Magmortar gains the additional Crush specialty that Magmar and Magby lack.
The Digging and Burning habitat (#116) is themed around mining and smelting, which fits naturally with Magmar's fire abilities. Consider placing it near your resource processing area.
If you already have Magby handling Burn tasks, Magmar can serve as a second Burn Pokemon to increase your fire-processing throughput.
Magmar's warm environment preference means it does best when surrounded by fire-themed decorations. Placing torches, campfires, and similar items nearby boosts its Comfort Level.
For an even stronger Burn Pokemon, look for Magmortar at the Mini Kitchen habitat (#122), though Magmortar is a Rare visitor and harder to find.
