Larvitar is a Rock/Ground-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Rock Skin Pokemon (Dex #169). It feeds on soil. After it has eaten a large mountain, it will fall asleep so it can grow. Larvitar is the first stage of a three-member family that includes Pupitar and Tyranitar. It carries both the Crush and Bulldoze specialties, giving it strong terrain-clearing and rock-breaking abilities right from its base form.
Larvitar is found at the Mossy Rest Spot habitat (#110). All that nice, damp moss makes this a great location for Pokemon who love humid places.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|

Larvitar appears as a Common visitor at this habitat. It is available during all times of day (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) in Sunny weather. Tyranitar also visits this habitat as a Very Rare visitor. The Mossy Rest Spot is one of the simplest habitats in the game, requiring only four pieces of Moss.
Build the Mossy Rest Spot habitat by placing four pieces of Moss near each other. This is one of the easiest habitats to construct, making Larvitar accessible relatively early. Since Larvitar is a Common visitor, it should appear quickly in Sunny weather. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it.
Larvitar has the Crush specialty. Pokemon with the Crush specialty can break down large rocks, boulders, and other heavy objects into raw materials. This is especially useful for clearing terrain and obtaining crafting resources like stone and ore. Other Pokemon with Crush include Geodude, Golem, and Magmortar.
Larvitar also has the Bulldoze specialty, which lets it clear and flatten terrain for building. This combination of Crush and Bulldoze makes Larvitar a powerhouse for land development. Its evolution Pupitar shares both specialties. Bonsly also has the Bulldoze specialty, though it lacks Crush.

Place stone and dirt-themed items near the habitat to raise its Comfort Level.

Larvitar belongs to a three-stage family alongside Pupitar (Dex #170) and Tyranitar (Dex #171). In the main Pokemon series, Larvitar evolves into Pupitar at level 30, and Pupitar evolves into Tyranitar at level 55. In Pokopia, all three share the Crush and Bulldoze specialties. Tyranitar is a Very Rare visitor at the same Mossy Rest Spot habitat as Larvitar, while Pupitar is found at the Tree-shaded Pink Tall Grass habitat (#138).
The Mossy Rest Spot only requires four pieces of Moss, making it one of the cheapest habitats to build. Set it up early to get access to Larvitar's Crush and Bulldoze specialties.
Larvitar only appears in Sunny weather. If it is cloudy or rainy, wait for the weather to clear before checking the Mossy Rest Spot.
Building the Mossy Rest Spot also gives you a chance at Tyranitar, which appears as a Very Rare visitor. Patience is required, but it is a powerful Pokemon.
Larvitar shares its dark environment preference with Murkrow, Honchkrow, and Pupitar. Grouping their habitats in a dark-themed area benefits all of them.
