Initial version (2026-03-21)
Empoleon is a Water/Steel-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Emperor Pokemon (Dex #130). If anyone were to hurt its pride, it would slash them in two with wings that can cleave through an ice floe. Empoleon is the final stage of the Piplup and Prinplup family. It carries two specialties: Water and Trade. Empoleon is one of the more difficult Pokemon to find, appearing as Rare at the Tableside Delivery Cart and Very Rare at the Waterwheel Spot.
Empoleon can be found at two habitats.

Empoleon is a Very Rare visitor at the Waterwheel Spot. It shares this habitat with Prinplup (Rare). Available at all times and in all weather.
Both habitats can be placed in any area across all biomes. The Tableside Delivery Cart requires several Chic furniture items, a Push Cart, and Plated Food. The Waterwheel Spot requires a Waterwheel Kit and a Waterfall. The Tableside Delivery Cart is the recommended habitat since Empoleon appears there as Rare rather than Very Rare.
Build the Tableside Delivery Cart habitat for the best chance of encountering Empoleon. Place the Push Cart, Chic Table, two Chic Chairs, a Small Vase, and Plated Food near each other. Empoleon is Rare, so patience is required. Check the habitat regularly and interact with Empoleon when it appears.
Empoleon has the Water specialty. Pokemon with the Water specialty can use a full water basin to spray water on nearby fields and plants. Empoleon will automatically water crops and gardens in the surrounding area when a water basin is available.
Empoleon also has the Trade specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can exchange items with you at a cash register. Place a cash register near Empoleon's habitat, and it will staff the register to offer item trades.

"If anyone were to hurt its pride, it would slash them in two with wings that can cleave through an ice floe."
Empoleon is the final stage of a three-member family that includes Piplup (Dex #128) and Prinplup (Dex #129). In the main Pokemon series, Prinplup evolves into Empoleon at level 36. In Pokopia, each member must be found independently. Empoleon shares the Waterwheel Spot habitat with Prinplup, while Piplup is found at the Hydrated Yellow Tall Grass habitat.
The Tableside Delivery Cart is the better habitat for finding Empoleon since it appears as Rare rather than Very Rare at the Waterwheel Spot.
Empoleon's dual Water and Trade specialties make it an excellent all-around utility Pokemon. Station it near both your farm fields and a cash register for maximum value.
If you build the Waterwheel Spot, you can encounter both Prinplup and Empoleon at the same habitat, though both are rare spawns.
Other Water-specialty Pokemon include Piplup and Prinplup. Having multiple Water-type Pokemon stationed near your crops ensures consistent watering.
