Dream Island Specialty
April 18, 2026 at 04:38 PM
Initial version (2026-04-18)
Dream Island is a specialty exclusive to Drifloon. It allows Drifloon to transport the player to randomized floating Dream Islands for single-day expeditions. Each trip yields unique resources such as Stardust, Red Crystal Fragments (during the Sableye Event), Cotton Spores (during the More Spores for Hoppip event), and a variety of regular materials not easily found in the five main regions.
Drifloon is the only Pokemon in the Pokedex with this specialty. Meeting Drifloon and unlocking Dream Island access is a major mid-game milestone.
Pokemon | Notes |

Exclusive. Encountered after reaching Environment Level 3 in Withered Wasteland. |
Befriend Drifloon and build his habitat so he moves into your town.
Obtain at least one Pokemon Doll. Dolls determine which Dream Island type Drifloon will take you to.
Approach Drifloon and select "Take me to a Dream Island." Choose which Doll to offer.
Drifloon ferries Ditto to a corresponding floating island. The terrain and loot pool depend on the Doll type.
Explore freely, collect materials, and interact with any Pokemon that appear. When finished, return to the central Dream Island platform to go home.
Each Doll type grants one visit per in-game day. The daily reset occurs at 05:00.
Doll | Dream Island Theme | Key Pickups |
|---|---|---|
Clefairy Doll | Rock Peak Dream Island | Red Crystal Clusters, Stardust, rocky materials |
Arcanine Doll | Volcanic Dream Island | Lava, Red Crystal Clusters, fire-resistant materials |
Magikarp Doll | Ocean Dream Island | Seashells, ocean water, Pearls |
Gardevoir Doll | Forest Dream Island | Wood, flowers, Stardust |
Other Doll variants | Additional themed islands with rotating pools | Region-specific materials |
Dolls are obtained through gameplay: some are crafted, some are rewards from quests, and some appear in Lost Relic appraisal drops. Stockpile a diverse Doll collection so Drifloon can visit multiple Dream Islands per day (one visit per Doll type).
Pokemon found on Dream Islands do not count toward your main Pokedex. The visit is a resource run, not a discovery run.
Items collected during the visit are kept and added to your inventory when you return home.
Time passes at normal speed during a Dream Island visit, so plan how long you want to stay.
If you run out of PP, you can still move around and interact but will not be able to use Ditto moves. Bring berries or cooked food to stay efficient.
Prioritize befriending Drifloon as soon as Withered Wasteland reaches Environment Level 3. Daily Dream Island visits are the single fastest way to stockpile Stardust, which is required for Star Pieces and several premium crafting recipes.
During the Sableye Event, switch Drifloon's daily trips to the Rock Peak and Volcanic Dream Islands to mine Red Crystal Clusters for event shop currency.
Wooloo-themed or Cute-themed Dolls often unlock rare flower or cosmetic-item islands. Check new Dolls in your inventory to see what islands they map to.
Drifloon himself cannot be taken off your home island, so you only interact with the specialty via his habitat.
Because Dream Islands are randomized, do not rely on memorizing landmark locations. Focus on material-scan patterns instead: sparkles for Stardust, crystals for event currency, and bushes for flower drops.
