Aurorus is an Ice/Rock-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Tundra Pokemon (Dex #279). It is said that when this Pokemon howls, auroras appear in the night sky. Aurorus is the evolved form of Amaura in the main series and one of several fossil Pokemon in Pokopia. It carries two specialties: Litter (Stone) and Crush, making it an effective material-processing partner.
Aurorus can be found at one habitat.
A display of ancient Pokemon fossils. The specimen's beautiful neck sail resembles an aurora.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Pedestal | 1 | Exhibition stand for the skeleton |
Tundra Fossil (head) | 1 | Head portion of the skeleton |
Tundra Fossil (body) | 1 | Body portion of the skeleton |
Tundra Fossil (tail) | 1 | Tail portion of the skeleton |
Aurorus is a Common visitor at the Tundra Fossil Display. This is a single-Pokemon habitat. The display requires four items: one pedestal and three fossil pieces. While not as complex as Tyrantrum's Despot Fossil Display (which needs six items), it still demands collecting multiple fossil parts.
Build the Tundra Fossil Display by placing a Pedestal along with all three Tundra Fossil pieces (head, body, and tail) near each other. Collect the fossil parts through the fossil digging system. Once the complete display is assembled, Aurorus will appear as a Common visitor. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it.
Aurorus has the Litter specialty with a Stone variant. Like Tyrantrum, Aurorus scatters stone-type materials around the area over time. These materials can be collected and used for crafting. This makes Aurorus a passive resource generator for stone-based building materials.
Aurorus also carries the Crush specialty, shared with its pre-evolution Amaura. The Crush specialty lets Aurorus break down rocks, ores, and hard objects into usable pieces. Together, Litter and Crush give Aurorus a full stone material production pipeline.

"It is said that when this Pokemon howls, auroras appear in the night sky."
Aurorus shares habitat preferences with Amaura, Metang, Beldum, Articuno, Meowth, Persian, Glaceon, and Metagross. These cool-environment Pokemon make great neighbors in a winter-themed display zone.
In the main Pokemon series, Aurorus evolves from Amaura at level 39 during nighttime. In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each must be found at its own fossil display habitat independently. Aurorus adds the Litter (Stone) specialty to the Crush specialty it shares with Amaura.
The Tundra Fossil Display requires three separate fossil pieces, so start collecting them early through the fossil digging system.
Aurorus and Tyrantrum both have Litter (Stone) and Crush. The main difference is that Aurorus prefers cool environments while Tyrantrum prefers dry. Choose based on your island layout.
Since Aurorus likes noisy stuff and symbols, place musical instruments and decorative signs near its habitat for bonus comfort.
Pair Aurorus with Amaura in a cool zone to create a matching fossil-themed area. Both prefer cool environments and shiny items.
