Planet Zoo 2 launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on the same day, with no releases planned for older consoles, handhelds, or macOS. Frontier publishes a full PC specification alongside guidance on what each tier is expected to deliver, and it has confirmed a console-specific tool for keeping performance stable. Purchase options are covered under Editions and Pre-Orders.

PC Specifications
Frontier frames both tiers around a zoo that is already well built up rather than an empty starting plot. The minimum specification targets above 30 frames per second on medium settings and the recommended specification targets 30 frames per second on high settings. The studio also notes that a simulation of this kind leans harder on the processor as animal and guest counts climb, so graphics settings can stop affecting frame rate once the processor becomes the limit, and that laptops benefit from extra cooling to keep processor clocks up.

Console Differences
Frontier says the game is designed to play well on every supported platform and that keyboard and mouse or a gamepad both work, on PC as well as console. The one console-specific addition it has named is a complexity meter, a tool that helps players keep a build within what their hardware can comfortably run. Beyond that, the studio has not detailed any feature cuts between versions.
Controls and Storefront Features
The store listing advertises full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense pads, alongside achievements, cloud saves, save anytime, stereo and surround sound output, HDR, and family sharing. The console listings state one player and mark online play as optional; the shared progression in Franchise mode runs asynchronously rather than as live co-op, and Frontier has stated plainly that there is no multiplayer.
Planet Zoo 2 plays offline once it has been downloaded. A connection is needed only for the online parts: downloading blueprints from the in-game workshop and sharing parks with other players. Widescreen monitors are supported.
Languages
Seventeen languages are listed on the store page, nine of them with full audio. The published support list names English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese as localised languages, and Traditional Chinese, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Danish, Russian, and Thai as text-only. The two lists overlap on Polish and Traditional Chinese in Frontier's own wording, so treat the exact split for those two as unsettled until launch.
Accessibility
Frontier has published an accessibility summary ahead of launch. The options confirmed so far are:
Option | Detail |
|---|---|
Interface scaling | Adjustable user interface scale |
Font scale | Scalable up to 100 percent |
Colour Vision Deficiency mode | Alternative colour presentation |
Audio sliders | Separate control over ambience, animal, and human sounds |
Phobia support | Image replacement for animals players may find distressing |
Pacing | The store listing marks the game as playable at your own pace and playable without timed input |
Camera comfort | Listed as a supported accessibility feature on the store page |
Age Rating
Planet Zoo 2 is rated PEGI 7. Both console storefronts show Violence as the content descriptor and also flag in-game purchases, which here refers to the Deluxe Upgrade Pack and the Bonus Content Pack being sold as separate add-on products alongside the base game rather than to any in-game currency or microtransaction system. The PC storefront now carries classifications from several boards, so the game is no longer unrated there.
Board | Rating | Descriptors |
|---|---|---|
PEGI | 7 | Violence on the console listings; Mild Violence and Pressure to Play on the PC listing |
ESRB | Everyone 10+ | Mild Violence, Mild Blood, Crude Humor; interactive elements Users Interact and In-Game Purchases |
USK | 0 | None listed |
OFLC | PG | Mild Themes |
GRAC | 7 | None listed |
The PEGI descriptors differ between storefronts, with the console listings naming Violence alone and the PC listing naming Mild Violence and Pressure to Play. A handful of further regional figures appear on the PC storefront, but those are generated automatically from the ratings above rather than issued by the boards concerned, so they are not listed here.
