Decorative scenery in Planet Zoo 2 is grouped into nine architectural themes, all drawing on iconic architecture from around the world. Frontier states the split as four brand-new themes and five returning from the first game, and it has named and illustrated five of the nine.

What Has Not Been Stated
As of 13 September 2026, no official source labels any individual theme as one of the four new sets or one of the five returning ones. Frontier gives the count split and describes these five by style alone. The only use of the word returning attaches to the items inside the Planet theme, not to the theme status. The two groups therefore cannot be mapped onto the named themes in either direction, and the remaining four themes have not been named at all. Using Scenery
Theme sets feed the piece-by-piece construction described under Building and Construction. Scenery pieces can be freely scaled and mirrored so a single asset can be varied around a zoo or sized exactly to a gap, and Flexicolour, the colour customisation system, has been widened in the sequel to cover more objects than before, paths among them.
Ready-made blueprints and community creations built from these sets are shared through the Frontier Workshop. The Deluxe Edition adds a further set of exclusive decorative animal signs, described under Editions and Pre-Orders.
