Whence the Weeping

Whence the Weeping is an optional story quest in Phantom Blade Zero following the voice of The Chord. The documented route crosses Weeping Creek Valley, Crimson Forest, Village of Lu and Pangzhen.

Quest details

Ask about the weeping

Find Yu'er beyond The Lady's Rift Bell and descend the chain. Choose Ask About the Weeping Women. Later, leave the cave at the beginning of Snake's Reflection and meet the Illusion of Lady Inanis near the Crane Bell. Ring it to witness the vision and continue into Crimson Forest.

Investigate Mirrorwood

At Mirrorwood Depths, interact with the blue portals to reveal stone pillars. Find a pillar with an open entrance, pass through and fight the enemies. Repeat through the forest toward Threadbound Great Tree.

Defeat Bai Chilian

Activate the Bell at the tree and defeat Bai Chilian. The rewards include Broken Illusory Pipa, Resonance Talisman, and White Serpent and Crimson Viper. Continue into Village of Lu and ask Jewel about the broken instrument. She directs Soul to Myst in Pangzhen.

Find Myst's underground tavern

Near Huang Manor Crossroads, find the building with two green lanterns and enter the tavern. Behind its wine racks, break the unusually large ceramic jar to reveal a crank. Use it, descend through the hidden passage and open the gate to meet Myst.

Show Myst the Broken Illusory Pipa. She asks for its missing strings, head and backplate and directs Soul toward Lake Meigu. This page covers the route through that request; later restoration and ending requirements remain outside the documented steps.
