Overview
Tools are the gathering and traversal implements players use to interact with their planet inPetit Planet. Each tool consumes Strength, the game's energy system, and is unlocked progressively as the player completes early quests and the planet develops. Most tools can be upgraded later throughMining and Crafting.
Tool List
Tool | Use | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Mattock | Strikes trees and rocks to gather wood, stone, ore, and rare minerals. | The primary harvesting tool. Higher tiers reduce Strength cost per swing. |
Fishing Rod | Catches fish in freshwater and saltwater spots across the planet. | SeeFishing. Catches can be donated to the Omni-Gallery viaMors. |
Bug Net | Captures bugs and insects across grass, trees, and beaches. | Caught bugs settle in the Eco-Tank or Omni-Gallery for Omni Vouchers. |
Shellfish Tongs | Gathers shellfish, shells, and small sea creatures along coastlines. | Unlocked after the beach area is opened by theLuca Arbour. |
Shovel | Tills soil for crops, moves trees, and relocates plants and decorations. | Used heavily duringFarminglayout andPlanet Customization. |
Watering Bucket | Waters crops to keep them healthy and prevent pest damage. | Daily watering is required to avoid pests slowing or ruining a harvest. |
Pogo Stick | Traverses elevated terrain and cliff areas that are otherwise out of reach. | Unlocks shortcut routes around the planet once the Mountain region opens. |
Strength
Every swing, cast, or net throw uses a small amount ofStrength, an action-point pool that depletes through the day. Strength refills by eating cooked food, prepared meals, and certain crops. Managing Strength means alternating between high-cost activities (mining hard rocks, chopping mature trees) and low-cost activities (gathering shells, picking flowers, decorating).
Acquisition
Most tools are introduced through tutorial quests early in the game, withMobaihanding the player their first Mattock, Watering Bucket, and Shovel as part of the Loomi Corp onboarding. The Pogo Stick and improved tool tiers unlock later throughLuca Arbourlevels and Neighbor friendship rewards.
Upgrades
Each tool can be upgraded at a crafting station using materials gathered through normal play. Upgrades typically reduce Strength cost, increase yield from each interaction, or unlock special interactions (for example, harvesting harder rocks or catching rarer fish). Tool blueprints arrive through Inspo Cards or as gifts from Neighbors at higher bond levels.
Tips
Carry the Watering Bucket every morning before doing anything else; pests damage crops if they are not watered each day.
Save Mattock swings for high-yield rocks and mature trees. Use the Bug Net and Shellfish Tongs to fill Strength gaps with low-cost gathering.
Donate caught fish and bugs to the Omni-Gallery quickly. Donations generate Omni Vouchers that redeem for items unavailable inGlenn's shop.
