Oni Awakening

Created a new page covering Oni Awakening and the Onimusha Onslaught technique
Oni Awakening is described by Capcom as "the form Musashi takes upon awakening the full extent of his Oni Powers." It grants greatly enhanced combat abilities along with the Onimusha Onslaught technique, and Steam's achievement list confirms the existence of an "Oni Awakened" state as a distinct part of the game.
In this heightened form, Musashi commands the battlefield with abilities beyond his normal Combat System toolkit, built around the Onimusha Onslaught technique. It sits at the far end of the Oni ability progression alongside Oni Vision, Oni Strength, and Oni Agility, but represents a temporary transformed state rather than a passive power.
Where Oni Vision, Oni Strength, and Oni Agility each grant a passive capability Musashi can call on whenever needed, Oni Awakening is different in kind: it is a state to enter and eventually leave, built around a single dramatic technique rather than a standing improvement to movement or strength. That distinction is also why it sits under its own achievement rather than being folded into the general Oni ability list.
Additional detail is visible in the shipped game but has not been documented in Capcom's own materials. Play of the retail build indicates the state is fuelled by a fourth type of soul, purple souls, separate from the red, yellow, and blue souls described in the Souls system. While awakened, taking damage appears to drain this gauge rather than Musashi's health directly, landing an Break Issen seems easier during the state rather than automatic, and Oni Armaments cannot be summoned while it is active. Spending the entire gauge triggers a finisher shown with a monochrome cut-in. None of this is officially documented, so it should be read as an observation of the shipped game rather than a confirmed mechanic.
Because Oni Awakening trades away Oni Armament access for a period of heightened offense, it is best treated as a burst option for a tough exchange rather than a state to hold constantly, at least until its exact resource costs are confirmed.
