Oboro Garasu are a winged, ninja-like Genma variant in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Capcom describes them as creatures that watch Musashi Miyamoto's every move and strike when an opening presents itself, adding that a moment's inattentiveness often marks the end of their quarry's life.
Combat Behavior
Their defining trait is teamwork. Capcom states that Oboro Garasu employ deadly combination attacks when paired with another of their kind, so an encounter with two of them is not simply double the damage output but a coordinated assault timed to close off an opponent's openings.
That ambush-and-openings design places Oboro Garasu among the enemies where reactive defense matters more than initiating. Punishing a moment of inattentiveness cuts both ways, so reading their approach before they strike, and answering with the Combat System's parry, deflect, or Reflex Dodge tools, is the safer way to fight them than trading blows first.
Role in the Genma Roster
Being winged and ninja-like sets Oboro Garasu apart from the grounded, brute-force Genma that make up much of the early roster, such as Togemaru and Byakue, giving the wider enemy roster an aerial, ambush-focused counterpart to those more direct threats.
