Onimusha: Way of the Sword ships with 52 achievements on PC, mirrored as trophies on console. They divide cleanly into three groups: a spine of story-progress awards that are hidden until earned, a wide band of combat-technique milestones tied to named combat mechanics, and a tail of completion awards for clearing every optional activity in Eastern Kyoto.
The list below is sorted by how commonly each achievement has been earned. Those rates are a live measure taken from the PC player base in mid-September 2026, a week and a half after launch, and they will keep drifting as more players finish the game. Read them as a rough difficulty and progression signal rather than a fixed value.

Hidden Achievements
Sixteen of the 52 are description-hidden, meaning the game withholds the requirement text until the achievement is earned. Their position in the unlock-rate ordering is itself informative: they thin out steadily from around 90 percent down to the low 30s, which is the shape you would expect from a linear chain of story chapters rather than a set of optional objectives.
Two of the hidden entries, Benkei: Out, but Not Down and Baited by Benkei, are the only first-party references anywhere to an entity named Benkei. Because both are description-hidden, nothing about that entity's role is confirmed from the achievement roster alone, and no other official material published so far names it.
The two rarest hidden entries, True Onimusha at roughly 4.5 percent and Glutton for Punishment at about 4 percent, sit below every completion award except the platinum-equivalent Peerless. That places them at the very end of the intended completion order.
What the List Confirms
Achievement text is written by the development team and describes the shipped game, so the roster doubles as a compact inventory of systems that are definitely present:
System | Confirmed By |
|---|---|
Break Issen chaining | Berserker, which asks for three enemies defeated with continuous Break Issen attacks |
Chain Issen | Flow State, 50 enemies defeated with Chain Issen attacks |
Grab reversals | Untouchable, 50 grab reversals performed |
Reflex Combos | Stop Motion, 50 Reflex Combos performed |
Soul absorption scaling | Get This Thing Off Me, 30 or more souls absorbed at once |
The Oni Awakened state | Oni's Oni, 50 enemies defeated while awakened |
Two separate skill tracks | The Winding Way of the Sword for all basic or special skills, Well-Rounded for both |
Oni Armaments as a finite set | Oni Armory, acquire all Oni Armaments |
Lion Dog rescues | No Dog Left Behind and For the Love of Dog |
Townsperson and merchant rescues | Citizen Savior for 30 townspeople, Selfish Selflessness for a merchant |
Genma Notes as a collectible set | Genma-ologist, collect all the Genma notes |
Charm and Hozuki Pouch enhancement ceilings | A Real Charmer, Charmed Life, Health Is Wealth, Medical Marvel |
Three enhanceable equipment pieces | Looking Sharp and Dressed to Kill |
Bow headshots as a tracked action | Deadeye, 100 headshots scored with the bow |
Assassinations | Silent Violence, 20 enemies assassinated |
Environmental attacks | Winning Is What Matters, 50 attacks with environmental objects |
Projectile deflection | Pinch Hitter, 50 projectiles deflected |
The Byakue fight at Kiyomizu-dera Temple | Serves You Right, which names both the enemy and the location |
Completion Shape
Roughly a third of players who started the game have reached the late-story hidden achievements, and about 2.8 percent hold all 52. The steepest drop in the list comes between the single-instance versions of each activity and their complete-the-set counterparts: 63.8 percent rescue their first Lion Dog but 24.3 percent rescue them all, and 63.4 percent solve their first Mystery of Kyoto against 32.9 percent who solve every one.
That gap is the practical read for anyone planning a full completion run. The main story is not the obstacle; the optional Eastern Kyoto activity layer of Chance Encounters, Mysteries of Kyoto, Lion Dogs, Genma Notes and maximum-level enhancement is where the long tail of the achievement list actually lives.
