These scripted encounters take place during Fogden Game in The Scarlet Letter's hidden realm northwest of Illusion Town. The story supplies the characters for each fight. Victories advance the episode rather than awarding a separate boss material bundle.
Boss | Trial character | Weakness |
|---|---|---|
The Fogden-Wright | Level 80 Linko | |
Monte | Level 80 Daffodill | None listed |
Scholar | Level 80 Daffodill | None listed |
Phear and Glaire | Preset Daffodill | None listed |
Sweeper | Level 80 Daffodill | None listed |
The Fogden-Wright
Watch for the lunge and use Linko's Redirect Skill at the parry cue. A successful parry knocks the boss down and creates your main damage opening. When Redirect is unavailable, dodge rather than continuing Basic Attacks through the next wind-up.
Its ranged patterns include mouth lasers, falling debris and beams fired while it is in the water. Focus on dodging those patterns and wait for the lunge to bring it back into a punishable position.
Monte and the body swap
Attack Monte from the side or rear to avoid his frontal strikes. His dash repeats twice and can knock you down, so reserve a response for the second pass.
At low health, Monte swaps bodies with Daffodill. You control Monte and fight Daffodill, but the damage you deal still reduces Monte's health. His Basic Attacks are slower than hers. Keep fighting and charge the Ultimate to return to Daffodill; the swap does not reset your progress.
Scholar
Avoid standing directly in front of Scholar's attacks. The vulture Oddities he summons explode when they reach you, so move away before they close in. Save your sustained damage for when he lands and can be reached safely.
Phear and Glaire
When Glaire jumps and throws a spear into the ground, an expanding area forms and explodes after a delay. Move toward the arena edge to leave that blast area. Continue watching the spear combos while using the supplied Daffodill to deal damage.
Sweeper
Move in and out between Sweeper's dash-and-slash strings, using Daffodill's Basic Attacks in the gaps or Redirect for a timed parry. Her circling red-orb attack happens twice and knocks you down on contact; back away until both passes end.
Sweeper cannot be damaged while attacking from the rooftops. Dodge the ranged pattern and wait for her to come down before spending your damage sequence.
