Confirmed Gameplay

HoYoverse has described Nodusfall's gameplay through four pillars on the official site. Each pillar is a short statement rather than a mechanical breakdown, so what follows is the confirmed wording and what can and cannot be drawn from it.
Pillar | Official description | What it confirms |
|---|---|---|
Face Mighty Foes, Reweave the Miracle | As the Weaver, cross a mythic world unravelling at its seams. Challenge colossal foes born of legend, and take back what is rightfully yours. | The player is a Weaver. Encounters are built around very large enemies drawn from legend. |
Stand Together, Break the Deadlock | Team up with your allies seamlessly, fight side by side to shatter the deadlock and, together, restore new order to a broken world. | Co-op is a core mode rather than an add-on. The word seamlessly suggests joining is intended to be low-friction, though no matchmaking detail is given. |
Seize Their Power, Shatter Their Might | Reap divine power from your enemies to unlock Divine Skills that are yours alone. Turn their own might against them. | Divine Skills are a named progression system, unlocked by taking power from defeated enemies rather than by a conventional skill tree. |
Slay, Forge, Build, Evolve | Switch roles and loadouts at will, fell mighty foes to claim mightier relics, and adapt to any fight. | Roles and loadouts are both switchable at will, not locked at character creation. Relics drop from defeated enemies and scale with the enemy's difficulty. |
Divine Skills are the only named system in the reveal material. They are described as unlocked by reaping divine power from enemies, and as being yours alone once unlocked. The phrasing points to an enemy-driven progression loop in which the roster of skills available to a player depends on what they have defeated rather than on a class choice.
No Divine Skill has been named, no cap on how many can be held has been given, and it is not stated whether they are shared across a party or bound to one character.
The fourth pillar confirms three separate things: that roles can be switched at will, that loadouts can be switched at will, and that relics are claimed from defeated foes with better relics coming from tougher ones. No role has been named, and the relationship between roles and Divine Skills has not been explained.
Party size for co-op, and whether solo play is supported
Whether the game is session-based, open-world, or hub-and-mission structured
Any named role, class, weapon, or Divine Skill
Whether progression is per-character or account-wide
Difficulty tiers, endgame structure, or repeatable content
Whether relics are cosmetic, statistical, or both
Several outlets compared the reveal to other large-monster co-op games. Those comparisons are impressions of the trailer, not statements from HoYoverse, and no such comparison should be recorded here as a mechanic.
