Nodusfall is developed by miHoYo and presented globally by HoYoverse. The studio's own video channel calls the game a brand-new realistic fantasy action game developed by HoYoverse, while miHoYo's Chinese corporate material lists the same project among its own revealed titles, and the Chinese site is operated by a miHoYo subsidiary. No single page states a developer and publisher split in so many words. The split is what the two locales' own first-party pages say, each in its own language, and it matches how the company has handled its other projects.

The Project's History
The development team has described the project's origins directly. It had been running a little over two years when the reveal happened. The team describes itself as made up of action game and online game enthusiasts, and frames the goal as combining action of a standard the team considers current with the enjoyment of playing online with friends. The multi-mythology premise traces to a lead creator's student-era idea of an adventure set in a fantasy world where the mythologies of different regions blend together, and realistic visuals were chosen as the style that expresses that world best.
The Chinese press release frames the game as a brand-new pre-research product for the company and notes that hiring for the project is ongoing, which is consistent with a title still some way from release.
A Departure From the Studio's Established Style
Nodusfall was widely treated as a surprise because it does not resemble the studio's known work. Its output is associated with stylised, anime-influenced presentation and largely solo-facing structure. Nodusfall was revealed with a darker palette, a grounded and realistic art direction, weightier combat and cooperative play against very large enemies as the central loop, and it is free to play without characters behind random draws.
The team describes the art direction in its own terms: a heavy, believable, grand fantasy world built on strong light and shade contrast and muted textures, with something of a classical oil painting about it and visible marks of age in the detail. Maps are said to be grounded in real terrain and then recomposed fantastically, and characters and creatures are recreated from existing myth with realistic bases and abstract touches.
Engine
One engine statement exists and it is worth quoting precisely. The description attached to the reveal trailer on the studio's own channels says the trailer contains a mix of gameplay footage and in-engine cinematics, all captured using Unreal Engine 5, and the Chinese-language version of the same description says the same thing. That is a statement about how the trailer was produced.
It is not an engine specification for the finished game, and nobody has published one. The distinction matters because the game is still in development and the same descriptions say the content shown does not represent the final product. As of September 11, 2026, the accurate position is that the project's trailer footage was captured in Unreal Engine 5 and that no shipped-engine claim has been made.
Scope Note
This page covers the studio only as the developer and publisher of Nodusfall. The company's other games are separate products with separate systems, settings and business models, and nothing about them should be read as applying here. In particular, their platform lineups and monetisation are not evidence for this game's. Nodusfall has its own confirmed platform position, covered in Release and Platforms, and its own confirmed business model, covered in Monetisation.
