TiMi Studio Group

Initial version (2026-09-08)
TiMi Studio Group is the developer of Monster Hunter Outlanders. The game is made under official licence from Capcom and, per the publisher's own wording, under Capcom's supervision. Early announcements described the project as a co-development between the two companies; later material, including the store listing, settles on TiMi Studio Group as developer and Capcom as licensor and supervisor. This page covers the studio only insofar as its work on this game has been confirmed.
The collaboration was announced on 8 November 2022, before the game had a title. The announcement described an in-development game that would reproduce the hunting actions defining the series while offering an experience built specifically for mobile devices, and framed it as a first-time partnership intended to bring the series to more platforms. No further detail was given at that point, and it would be two years before the game was named.
On 12 November 2024 the title was announced for iOS and Android, free to play with in-app purchases, with several playtests planned before launch. Three such tests followed, documented on the Closed Beta Tests page.
Two producers front the project publicly, one from each company, and both have appeared in official developer videos and press statements.
Name | Company | Role |
|---|---|---|
Dong Huang | TiMi Studio Group | Producer |
Genki Sunano | Capcom | Producer |
At the November 2024 announcement, Dong Huang framed the goal as letting mobile players fully enjoy the series, offering an authentic hunting experience in a large open world with the community and social systems players expect. At Tokyo Game Show 2025 he described the show build as one aspect of the game's features, with the first closed beta then coming in November. Genki Sunano said at the same event that he believed the title had great potential and that Capcom was pleased for fans to experience the series in a new way.
The design brief that emerges from official statements is consistent across four years. The controls are to be rebuilt for touchscreens without losing the feel of a hunt, which is why combo moves execute from a single button press. The world is to be open and seamlessly connected rather than divided into quest arenas. Social and community systems are treated as core rather than optional, which is where the four-player co-op, fixed teams and adventure guilds described on the Gameplay page come from. And the content is to be original: an original island in Aesoland, original characters in the Adventurers, original companions, original Radiant species and an original Elder Dragon in Ruger Aidal.
TiMi Studio Group develops; publishing is handled separately and regionally. Level Infinite publishes globally, and Garena publishes across Southeast Asia. The two operations maintain separate portals and opened pre-registration at different times, which is covered on the Release Date and Platforms page.
