Monster Hunter Outlanders is a mobile hunting action RPG built for iOS and Android. It is developed by TiMi Studio Group under official licence from and supervision by Capcom, and it is published by Level Infinite globally and by Garena across Southeast Asia. The game is free to play and carries in-app purchases. Its stated release window is 2026, with no dated launch announced as of September 2026. See Release Date and Platforms for the full timeline.
The game places players on Aesoland, an island divided into several regions by terrain and weather, and populated by both familiar series monsters and the Radiant species exclusive to this title. Players take the role of characters called Adventurers, each pairing a personality and a set of skills with one of seven classic weapon types. Hunts can be taken alone or with a party of up to four players in real time.
Development was first announced in November 2022 as a co-development between TiMi Studio Group and Capcom for mobile, without a title. The name Monster Hunter Outlanders and its first trailer arrived in November 2024. Three Closed Beta Tests have run since, the most recent starting on 7 August 2026, and store pre-registration opened in the second half of 2026.

Setting
The whole of the confirmed game takes place on Aesoland, described in official material as a new island split into several areas according to terrain and weather. Fields are seamlessly connected, and the environments shown so far include forests, swamps and deserts. Aesoland is not a location from any earlier entry in the series; it is original to this game, and so is its central mineral, Radiantite.
Radiantite gives the island its signature bestiary. Monsters exposed to it become Radiant species, altered in both appearance and ability, and they behave more aggressively during a hunt than their ordinary counterparts. The first original Elder Dragon created for the game, Ruger Aidal, was revealed in August 2026 and is described as the flagship monster of the setting.
Classic monsters from the wider series also appear on Aesoland. Rathalos, Rathian, Diablos, Kushala Daora, Anjanath and Nergigante have all been named as appearing, and several of them have Radiant forms.
Playing the Game
Controls have been rebuilt for touchscreens. Official material describes combo moves that can be executed with a single button press, so that the rhythm of a hunt survives the move to a phone. A hunting party of up to four can be assembled with a single tap, teammates can split roles, and co-op skills can be combined for effects that solo play does not reach.
Away from combat, players gather resources, craft equipment and tools from carved materials, and use a building system to place field facilities such as launchers, ziplines and gliding equipment. Those facilities open new approaches to a region and can also lead to special items and to clues tied to an assignment. Observing how monsters hunt, taunt and interact with one another is presented as a practical advantage rather than flavour. The full sequence is described on the Hunting Loop page, and the systems around it on the Gameplay page.
Characters and Companions
Adventurers are the playable characters. Nine have been revealed so far, sorted into three classes (Assault, Support and Disruptor) and each tied to one weapon type. Every Adventurer is accompanied by a buddy, and three buddy types have been shown: the Palico, familiar from the wider series, plus Trillan and Rutaco, both original to this game and both native to Aesoland. Buddies have their own personalities and skills and can be trained to become more capable.
Beta Testing and Pre-Registration
Three closed beta tests have been held. The first was announced during September 2025 and ran in November 2025 in selected territories. The second was recruited in April 2026 and held in May 2026. The third recruited from 2 July 2026 and began on 7 August 2026 across Japan, the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and the Philippines. Each test added new Radiant monsters and further Adventurers.
Pre-registration opened in stages. The Southeast Asian web pre-registration went live on 24 July 2026, and pre-registration on the iOS and Android storefronts opened on 26 August 2026, one day after the reveal of Ruger Aidal at gamescom.
