Villagers are the people who share the Kingdom of Eldoras with the hero in Monster Fantasy. Jotoyo has confirmed around 100 villagers, and each one has their own personality, strengths, and interests. Rather than acting as faceless background characters, the villagers are meant to feel like a living community that you get to know over time.

Building Friendships

A central part of village life is getting closer to the people around you. You can build friendships with villagers and work together with them to create a wonderful home. Their differing personalities and interests give each relationship its own character, so the people you choose to spend time with shape how your time in the village feels. The dialogue that brings these friendships to life is a complete set written by hand. Separately, the studio is exploring an optional AI-Powered NPCs conversation feature, which is experimental and has not been confirmed for the final release.

Working Together

Recruitment works in two directions. You can invite the villagers you like best to move into your village, which is how the community you live alongside gets assembled in the first place. Residents can also be taken on to work for you and help with village life, so a villager's particular strengths translate into practical help rather than just flavour.

Beyond friendship, villagers contribute to the shared goal of building up the village. Working together with them to create a wonderful home is part of how the community grows, and their individual strengths mean different villagers bring different things to the effort. This cooperative spirit runs through both the cozy life and the action sides of the game. As you settle into the Kingdom of Eldoras, the community of around 100 villagers becomes the backdrop for the cozy Life Sim Activities you take part in, from gathering and producing to building and customizing your home, so the people and the place grow together over time.

Fighting Alongside You

Villagers are not limited to quiet village tasks. They can be recruited to fight alongside you on hunts, joining the hero out in the field against the giant Monsters. This means the friendships you build can directly affect your success in combat, blending the social and adventuring parts of Monster Fantasy together. Choosing which villagers to bring along becomes part of preparing for a hunt.
