Suits and Claws

Linked the Team X uniform mention to its own page
Suits and claws are the customisation layer in Marvel's Wolverine, and unlike most cosmetic systems this one is wired into progression. Insomniac has said plainly that acquiring more suits grants health upgrades and opens access to new claws, so working through the wardrobe is a way of raising Logan's survivability rather than a purely visual exercise.

Suits are crafted rather than simply unlocked from a list. The raw materials come from material crates hidden around each area, and you find them by listening: the crates make a noise Logan can pick up with his senses, in the same way that whisky bottles are tracked by scent. See Collectibles and Progression and Upgrades.
Claws follow from suits. The studio has described new claw designs as something you get by unlocking suits and by completing challenges, which puts the optional content in Nightmare Doors on the same reward track. Suits and claws can be mixed and matched, so a claw set is not tied to the suit that unlocked it.
Two behaviours are confirmed beyond the cosmetic layer. Acquiring suits raises Logan's maximum health, and suits repair themselves as he does. That second point was a deliberate decision: head of technology Mike Fitzgerald has said the team did not want players spending the back half of a mission in shredded rags, and senior project director Jess Reiner-Reed has described early builds where the effect felt underpowered before the team settled on a balance. The visual damage that does show is governed by the Visceral Healing option; see Accessibility Options.
Some suits come with a cowl or a hat, and those can be toggled on or off independently, leaving Logan's unkempt hair visible underneath.
Insomniac has described the roster as covering legendary looks inspired by Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Ultimate Wolverine and Patch, alongside civilian staples as ordinary as a tank top or a leather jacket. Battle Reborn is the studio's own original design for this game. The suits confirmed by name so far are listed below.
Suit | How it is obtained | Notes |

Battle Reborn | Insomniac original design | The studio's own suit for this game, and the design the limited-edition hardware line is based on |
Incredible | Digital Deluxe Edition | Described by the studio as inspired by Logan's original look |
Savage | Digital Deluxe Edition | Original design by Adam Kubert |
Age of Apocalypse | Digital Deluxe Edition | No design credit published |
Night Hunt | Digital Deluxe Edition | Original design by Iban Coello |
New Leather | Digital Deluxe Edition | No design credit published |
Classic Brown Suit | Pre-order bonus | An early unlock rather than an exclusive, so it is obtainable later in the base game |
When Two Pals Went to Hollywood | Base game | Named publicly by the game director; the unlock condition has not been published |

Several further looks have been seen without being given a published name, including an X-Force style outfit, the yellow and black Team X uniform, a classic brown and yellow costume, a blue and gold costume, a first-appearance costume, and a civilian jacket look. These come from hands-on sessions and trailer footage rather than from an official roster, so they are described here rather than named.

The full roster has not been published. Hands-on sessions before launch counted somewhere around 27 suit slots in the customisation menus, but that is an observed slot count rather than an official figure, and published claims about how many suits are needed to max out the health bonus disagree with each other, so no total is stated here.
Claws change the shape and finish of the blades rather than their behaviour. Insomniac has named bone, notched, curved, reflective and angled claws directly, and said explicitly that the list continues past those five.

Claws | How they are obtained | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Bone claws | Base game | Named by the studio as one of the claw designs in the game |
Notched claws | Base game | Named by the studio |
Curved claws | Base game | Named by the studio |
Angled claws | Base game | Named by the studio |
Reflective Claws | Pre-order bonus | An early unlock; also named by the studio as one of the base claw designs |
Helix Claws | Base game | Appears in the game's achievement text, which tracks kills made with them |
Gold Claws | Free for all players | Announced alongside the development milestone in August 2026; no unlock condition has been published |
Smooth-Edged Claws | Digital Deluxe Edition | Exclusive to that edition |
Hollow Blade Claws | Digital Deluxe Edition | Exclusive to that edition |
Thick Claws | Digital Deluxe Edition | Exclusive to that edition |
Serrated Spine Claws | Digital Deluxe Edition | Exclusive to that edition |
Tapered Claws | Digital Deluxe Edition | Exclusive to that edition |
Roughly 20 claw designs were counted in the customisation menus during pre-launch hands-on sessions, which is again an observation rather than a published number. The five Digital Deluxe claw sets are exclusive to that edition; everything else on the list is reachable in the base game. See Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses.
The Battle Reborn suit design has been shared beyond this game as a promotional tie-in: it was made available free to all players of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls in August 2026. That is a cosmetic in the other game rather than content here, and nothing about it changes what is unlockable in Marvel's Wolverine.
