Mystique is a confirmed member of Team X in Marvel's Wolverine. She fights alongside Logan on several missions and is the one ally the game has shown being given a direct order.

Standing in the team

PlayStation's own material names Mystique and Sabretooth outright as Team X members, an upgrade on the earlier wording that had them merely operating under Nathaniel Essex. Three members are confirmed in total, counting Logan.

In combat

In a fight she shifts through identities as the situation demands, which is the extent of what official material has described about how her power reads in gameplay. In the Sentinel Prototype encounter she becomes a commandable ally: the player can order her to take a sniper shot, and the fight as a whole is framed by Insomniac as needing the combined abilities of Team X. Bolivar Trask's Ability Inhibitors shut down the whole team's powers rather than only Logan's, so encounters built around them take her assists away too until the hardware is destroyed.

Never Have I Ever

Mystique also carries one of the game's quieter scenes. At the Princess Bar in Madripoor she pushes Logan into a friendly but exposing game of Never Have I Ever, with the player deciding his answers by choosing whether or not he drinks. It is one of the few published examples of player choice in the campaign, and it sits in the walkable bar hub that opens up after the first act. See Story and Setting.
