Scarlet Woods

The Scarlet Woods is the forest that sits beside Iris Hamlet in the southern region of Mythos. It is where the story starts, and it keeps turning up afterwards as an early hunting ground and material source.

Where the Story Begins

Ales had slipped out into the woods to watch an event that happens only once a year. Deep among the trees he found Trey lying unconscious, and brought him back to Kapan's laboratory. Everything that follows, Trey waking with no memory and setting out to recover it, starts from that discovery.

The same forest is where Ales earlier found Moka, the damaged robot he repaired himself. Two of the three constants in the early game, Trey and Moka, both came out of these woods.

Exploring the Woods

The caves running through the Scarlet Woods are dense with Anivite Crystals, which makes the area one of the better early sources of Anivite and gemstones such as Ruby and Sapphire. You need a Geo type Animon and the Holoken to break them open.

Wild Animon roam the woods heavily enough that a Repel is worth carrying if you intend to mine rather than fight. See How to Break Rocks and Exploration.
